I was just playing the game and I was trying out all the levels of difficulty.
Nightmare mode locks up in the first room with the shield.
Ultra Hard mode locks up right at the second level
Hard Mode locks up in the middle of the second level (maybe past red door?)
Medium = ?
Easy = ?
Note on Medium and Easy modes... I haven't played past level 2.
Maybe there is a code error like nightmare = 5 or something.
It seems the harder the levels the faster it crashes. Could it be because of the added 3D models in the level? The game seems to run just fine all the way up to the crash.
Crash = locked up/soft reset.
Hope this helps. I'd like it to see get finished.

Only episode one has its data converted. If you try another episode, it will crash.

It reminds me the crashs I had while I launched DoomGLES with activesync in the background. The more complex was the scene the sooner the crash occured.
In your case, the harder the level the more monsters there are...
Are you sure you shutdown activesync and any other background program before running the game ?
By the way, I released V0.02 which contains a basic error handler. If a problem is detected (like a missing data) it should shutdown properly and display the error in a messagebox.

Unfortunately, the shareware version played on the A12 x51v just crashes on Level 2 when, behind the red door, after switching on the hidden switch in the room filled with poison, you use the lift packed with health packs to go down to the room full of enemies. I’ve tested this two times and I’ve run into the crash exactly at this position.
I don’t know whether the commercial version WAD file is also affected by this problem.

get this: if i have the map open going down the elevator, it works fine. but if you have the map closed, it wont work. you can close the map after you step off the elevator.

UPDATE (12/18/2006): version 0.03 has just been released!
It was only few days ago that the first playable version of the 2700G-enabled DoomGLES was released and, two days ago, 0.02. Now, a new version is out. It's available here.
Also, AximSite forum member thebigbread has pointed out you can avoid the shareware bug I've described in my previous article by just keeping the map on while you go down in the elevator.

I don't have the retail version. Can I still play the full version of Doom? Are the links under 'DoomGLES V0.3 (beta)' all I need for the game, or do I need to download something else.
Thanks
