Ok listen, do me a favour, read the Readme, read my posts (as I said what to configure two posts above) and also visit the forum, I did a new FAQ with all the stuff you need to know besides that what is in the Readme.... I do it for fun but not just for it ^^ it should help folks, too
About the movie thing, I don't understand what you mean, with LFB driver, the movies all run near full speed, you can only tell that they don't because the audio track is a bit choppy. But it of course supports movies, it's your device that isn't fast enough to handle them then ^^.
Btw they can work faster if you activate the Mdec BW which makes them black and white and therewith lowers the amount of colors your device has to display (a plus of like 2 or 3 FPS in movies).
And of course, you need enough space as a game with movies can be really, really big, they sometimes make 80-90% of the image's size.

The game(s) I tried (MegamanX series), had an opening movie, and whel I loaded it it said "loading" and flashed the screen then took me straight to the title screen, likewise, when I started playing the first movie didn't play it just flashed and skipped over it...

Number 1:
Maybe a game specific bug, have you tried other games with movies?
Number 2:
It's a bug of ActiveSync, it can not handle files bigger then... uhm.. 70 to 100 MB, I'm not sure. Either directly connect your card to your PC or get a program that simulates a simple storage card reader on your PDA like CardExport II, but it's commercial (however, free 30 days trial).
Number 3:
I am not sure what chould be wrong, is it the NTSC or the PAL version?

i copied the files to card using my laptops inbuilt card reader, and even tried using a compact flash card in a PCMCIA reader instead

^^ you ARE number 3, I just numbered you all cause I didn't wanna quote every single person, shame on me -.-"
It seems as if NTSC games are running better but I have to test this myself to prove it.
E.g. Diablo NTSC runs why PAL does not.

quick question to those who've sucessfully ripped and played FF7. does the audio at the start of the game working for you? all i get are blotches of sound ...u cant even make out the track...in game though the sounds get better but still choppy....thx in adv:)
The XA sound files (long tracks of music for example) are read directly from your storage as they can not be loaded into RAM (as e.g. smaller sound pieces that can be played unchoppy) because they can be around 10-50 MB each.
The slower your device / storage card, the more choppy the audio track can get.

Have to correct myself, as it seems, FF7 is one of the few games using midi as music which should work better but if not, it's still the same problem that the device is too slow and on the other hand even worse, that the FPS are not fixed point which is even harder to do (as forcing a stable amount of high FPS kills your gameplay anyway ;) )

A little question. Is it somehow possible to run games with native resolution 256*240 in landscape mode so that they would not be stretched to fullscreen on VGA devices? I mean, it would be better to run such games in 512*480 resolution with black border, not stretched to 640*480. I think the same is true for QVGA. Native 256*240 resolution looks better than 320*240 stretched.
