Pocket Breeze version 5.2 Public Beta 1 Released!

I don't have a good screen shot to post - yet - but Amit and team over at SBSH have released a major upgrade to Pocket Breeze. I have had an opportunity to try this new version out just before the public release. It is faster, uses less memory and is much more user friendly while still retaining the ability to completely customize the look and feel of the program for your taste.

Did I mention you can pin a calender on the Today screen? :approve:

Check out all that is new and give this public beta a try here.

Edit: Got a screen shot! Thanks, Amit!

Arg, can anyone email me the file? For some reason I can't access SBSH in China.

I hope amit doesn´t get mad at me but his server seems to be overlwhelmed by the amount of downloads.

So here is the latest beta version (Pocketbreeze 5.2)

It also includes the functionality of ContactBreeze, so this is like a 2-for-1.

Those that have paid for ContactBreeze are promised an updated standalone app (like WeatherConsole) with additional features as a free upgrade. Another true bonus from Amit and the fine people at SBSH

Do you have to uninstall the old version before installing the new one?

Many thanks Pablo216 for uploading the new build to an additional server :) No problem of course.

We've had a few problems with our downloads server during this morning so we were unable to upload the new version files to our regular downloads server therefore we first uploaded the new version downloadable files to our main site server, which is slower when it comes to big files which caused this extra load on our servers during the morning hours of the new version release.

Good news is that we've got those problems with our servers resolved a few hours ago and the new public beta version file downloads were moved to the regular downloads server and things should work much better now with the new build file downloads :)

We're now starting to work on the next public beta, based on the input that we received from our users with this initial public beta version and we plan to have about two or three more builds like this one posted on our forums in the next 2 to 3 weeks and then we will reach the new version official release, which I'm guessing a lot of our other users that prefer not to use public beta versions will also be glad to give it a try.

We've already had about ~3000 users who downloaded this new public beta version and I'm glad to say things seems to work smoothly, so I can safely say that this new public beta version is also really solid - although we had a few minor bugs that we will need to fix and we also want to complete a few missing features for the final release before we release the new version.

Many thanks to all of you for the great support and I'm really glad to hear that you like the new changes with this new version!! We hope to also have the all new ContactBreeze version 2 initial public beta version released in about ~2 weeks from now since things seems to progress really well with it too these days!

As always, I would be really glad to hear any input that users might have on the new version and we will be sure to work on it for the official release and also for future upcoming updates.

Have a happy new year all! :)

If you have Contact Breeze installed, you need to uninstall it before installing PB.
The new PB beta has a tab for contacts built-in.

Hi Wendy :)

I will suggest doing this, but you can choose to preserve your settings for future installation when you uninstall the current version you have, so you won't need to configure your PocketBreeze options once again when installing the new version :)

Also - if you have ContactBreeze installed on your device you should be sure to uninstall it since the new version introduced a new built-in Contacts tab with it. As for ContactBreeze - a totally new ContactBreeze version 2 will be introduced in about two weeks from now and upgrading for all registered users to this new version will of course be a free upgrade :) (now we just need to complete the development work on this one... )

I let the installation of the new version uninstall the old one (I did not manually uninstall it thru Start-Settings-Remove Programs) and said YES to preserve settings and everything upgraded perfectly! :)
