Steve Laser brings us a review of the SoftMaker Office 2006 Suite....
I tried it out with my Dell Executive BT Keyboard and it worked wonderfully. One thing I can't stand doing is putting important documents in the My Documents section of my pocket pc folder. My computer is much too organized for that. So I employed a third party synchronization program, Mighty Sync 2.0, to help out (www.MyDocsUnlimited.com). This allows you to sync a program from anywhere on your desktop to anywhere on your pocket pc. It worked flawlessly. I highly recommend SoftMaker Office 2006. It works well with other programs, it's well documented and supported, and it's worth the money.

thanks steve! As a side, I had no idea that sync program existed. This is just what I need - I hate having to copy files into the "my pocket pc folder".
Will probably try the demo of the reviewed software, too. :approve:
Does it have all the same features as Normal Microsoft Office, the review doesn't specify?
What features do you mean? It only has Word and Excel, and has so many features that I couldn't list them all. You can visit the home page, Softmaker and check it out. I wish it had Access, that is my favorite Office program.
Virtually anything you can do in MS Word adn Excel can be done with SoftMaker Office.

Along the lines of the review (and a good one at that....having been using PM/TM since they came out), is there another alternative to MightySync? I just downloaded it and it crashes immediately upon placing my x51v into the cradle.....tried reinstalling/rebooting and still crashes.
I've been using the word processor software for a long time and it is a serious piece of software for anyone who has gotta use a word processor for more than "notepad" type text entry. Complex formatting, footnotes, graphics--this thing handles everything I've thrown at it with ease and nary a hiccup on moving between it and my desktop's MS Word. Softmaker has always been responsive when I've asked a question. First rate product and company.
