I read that email this morning, downloaded and installed (AS 4.5 beta). I took a half day for my wife's birthday so while waiting to get into Olive Garden I played the first nine. Nice game and you can't beat the price.:)
I got error when d/ling to my x50v, "invalid set-up file", anyone know why?
I got the same error. And I don't see how upgrading ActiveSync would fixed the problem. The desktop installer simply extracts the files and calls CEAppMgr with the INI file name, which have the information of the CAB file. I did not download the CAB file using ActiveSync. What I did was to copy the CAB file to the device manually and directly install the CAB file on the x50v (w/ WM2003SE). It seems that the problem is with the CAB file itself.
Could someone correct me if I'm wrong?

Downloaded it, the file stated it was the full version. I didn't get to play it much but i'm pretty impressed with what i see. I don't know if i like it b/c it was free or b/c of the game play. It's simple but at the same time difficult.
It'll get time to get used to. But you can't beat a free deal.
I'm not a zealous reader of EULA's - I'm as lazy as the next. But I stopped when I came to the following clause.
YOU MAY NOT:
...Publish or provide any results of reviews or tests, including without limitation benchmark tests, run on the Software without OmniG Software's prior written consent.
So I can only tell you what I think of the software before I've looked at it. Afterwards, unless I want to risk a visit from OmniG's LawyerS, I can only fawn and flatter. I think you guys should count yourselves lucky that you didn't knock the product. Even saying it's worth every cent you paid for it might get you in trouble.
I decided I didn't want to submit to OmniG's attempt at censorship, and didn't download. But is this form of restriction commonplace?

Dunno why they state so - they want to avoid negative press? ;)

I got this same error using as 3.8!
How to solve: After getting the error message, click ok. It still extracted the cab file to c:/program files/microsoft activesync They are in a omni g soft folder.
Copy the cab to your ppc!

Hello, I am getting the same problem. I did find the .cab file, copied it over to my Axim; however, I get an install error there also. I would really like to keep my ActiveSync version to 3.7 since I use wireless synch exclusively. If anyone has figured out how to install this game without upgrading from 3.7, I would appreciate any help

I was wondering the same thing. I don't want to lose wifi sync!
I have a V50x with WM2003SE and use AS3.8. I had installation problems similar to those described in this thread, i.e., the Windows installer did not work and copying the .cab file to the PPC and trying to install also produced an error. I contacted OmniG support and quoted this thread. They told me that it appeared that MS had modified the file and then asked me to download it again and try it. I just did that. The new version installs with no problems.
