Oh ms has a cab file. I never realized that when i was answering peoples posts on the dst patch.

Even though they've warned us for weeks, many people will still wake up tommorow not realizing it, b/c its just so early.

Actually they didn't have CAB installers. Only made those available a few days ago I believe.

Got a problem...

I did the update. Now my regular scheduled appointments are an hour off?

So the appointment before the update date, is ok, but after the update date is 1 hr later...

Example, 9am is the original appointment, after the update it's now 10am. Any idea how to go about fixing this? besides individually manipulating the enteries...

thanks in advance.

The CAB file worked flawlessly. Both Axim's were updated seamlessly.

Thanks for the post.

They did...a months ago. I had it installed, but then folks came up with the whole 1-hour, must change time zone problem.

I had to uninstall the origional one, and download the new one listed above before it fixed my problems.

These work like a champ!!!

Yeah I am still getting the same problem with this new update. Did you uninstall it from ActiveSync?

Ok I got it to work. I just changed the time zone and then put it pack to my Time Zone. However, I still had to change the time. Before I would change it but then ActiveSync would change it back. Now I am not sure if Active Sync would of changed it to the right time. Either way it did not change it to the wrong time.

For those of us who have a smartphone, why install the update? Won't you get the correct time from the towers anyway?

I used the cab file, the only indication that it did anything was the time went back an hour. (I had set it to the correct time this morning). I reset the time, but the device didn't prompt me that it installed properly.
Is this normal?
I can see the file under windows directory, so maybe it's O.K.

There were no clues. You could test it by changing the date to March 10 2007, time 1:58 AM and wait until it rolls over to 2 am. At that time it changes to 3 AM and you know it works. You could also test it by going to the normal DST fall back time and also the new time in Nov so you can see it in action.

I used the NON M$ cab and it worked just fine. I don't use outlook, so I don't have any issues, although I suspect there are programs on my computer that are using it and may have issues.

When I used the m$ fixes, My PDA constantly kept switching time zones and changed my appts in my Lotus calendar. since switching back, no problems. I then applied and deployed throughout the office a non M$ fix for the rest of the computers. In the office now, all seems well.

Last night I changed my Axim X51v to DST by going into the settings.
Today I downloaded all the updates for DST on PC,PCC and outlook.
However my appointments are off and hour.
A 2 o' clock appointment is now 1 o' clock.

What do I do besides having to change each and everyone?

Edit: The appointment times are correct in Outlook. Which means that my Axim is not syncing.

It sort of worked. I forgot to apply the patch yesterday. So I just applied the patch, and nothing happened. Even changing the Time Zone back and forth did nothing. So I manually changed the time. But just to check, I rolled back the clock to 1:59am this morning, and when it changed to 2am I got this message saying that the DST is in effect and to check my clock settings to ensure they are correct.

We should all just stay on Standard time and be done with it.

If anyone is curious as to why we switch, here's a link with a nutshell explanation:
