Great news! Seems like Opera 8.65 is coming soon with some cool new features,
  • Grab and Scroll (PocketPC only)
  • Web search in addressbar
  • Save image
  • Copy text
  • Send link as e-mail, sms, and mms
  • Import IE bookmarks

Right now the downloads link to 8.60u2. Hope they fix that soon.

WOW... nice... i was wondering where my money has gone. I mean other vendors always try to improve their products, and i know OPERA works well, but there needed to be lots of improvements... So hopefully this will have it.

Any idea if it's going to be a FREE upgrade for those w/ the current version?

# Support for Macromedia Flash Player 7 for Pocket PCs
# FlashLite 2.1

does this in any way mean that sites like Peekvid/youtube/other flash videos will be viewable. or is there any other way of watching flas vides on the ppc at the moment?

They have mentioned to me in past emails that dot upgrades were free, but that full increments were not, so I would presume this policy is still in effect.

I'm anxious to see the differences! Gotta go download and install it.

Here is a "raw" link to it:

http://get.opera.com/pub/opera/winmobile/850b2/

Since this is in a pub dir, I presume it is no secret to post it here for others. It is not password protected either, so it seems fair game to me.

Can you tell I am a type A personality???

LOL I suspected my post would get modded. I'll just say that everything in 8.65 works. Keep in mind that if you skinned it, you'll loose the skin in the upgrade. Plus you can't copy text with grab and scroll on. Other than that its great.. ;)

Those files are just over a year old and appear to be version 8.50. I don't think the new files are up just yet.

Then it is worthless. I need to be able to browse with one hand, not dicking around with the stylus constantly.

How can such a simple feature be ignored for so long?

You can, the have a new quick windows(tab) option in menu, just slide your thumb up to press it and voila. they have it selected 1st so navagating windows and bookmarks/history can be hit with a thumb.
