Great review Mike. I'm wondering if you can take the OnCourse SD card, and copy the contents to a larger card, and add the contents of the regular SD card you use, so that you never have to remove an SD card from your Axim?

From what I read on OCN6 FAQ, I don't think that is possible.

I see you are correct Akheron, thanks for pointing that out. That is unfortunate. But the x50/x51's come w/2 card slots, so one could reload their programs onto the CF card.

I saw someone mentioned a CF to SD card adapter. I may try this to see if I can get the SD card to work using the CF slot. I don't use the CF slot at all. Anyone tried this as yet?

Yeah, I asked Joekee from buyGPSnow and he thinks it should work. But, if someone actually tries this, pls let us know how it works out. It's a pain to take out the your own sd card if programs are already stored in it.

It's my understanding that you must run OnCourse Navigator from the provided SD card because the software looks for the card's serial number when run. It's also my understanding that each state has it's own file on the card. You can backup and remove the unneeded states from the card to make room for your own files (mp3, etc). The premium edition takes up 1.75GB of the 2GB card with all the maps.

They are working on a 4GB SD card version. Check out the OCN forum.

hmm...is it me, or does this look exactly like the software that runs on the mio c310x?

if that's the case, it might make more sense to buy the gps unit + software for only $150.

Yes, this an IGO clone such as runs o the c310x -- I have axim x50v and Mioc310x and have many of my axim programs running on the mio -- Using my axim less and less these days now!! The OCN6 soes look great on my axim in VGA mode but the brightness of the screen on the Mio surpasses the Axim for car use -- If the Axim had reliable GPS auto connect I would probably use this more but always having to manually connect Bluetooth --then start program seems a bother to me !

As it's been pointed out this piece of software is just iGo with a different skin. Mio's devices and MioMap are also based on iGo so the functionality and capabilities are probably identical or very similar.

There are mod communities around improving the usability of iGo / MioMap out there and its pretty exciting how flexible the software is.
