With the discussion of the future of Aximsite, I have gotten over 25 email from concerned users, businesses, and even another webmaster questioning my statement that Dell is no longer in the Axim market. To clear this all up, I will explain.
Back in February, I posted Dell Rumor Update - RIP Dell Axim. This post basicly described a phone conversation I had with Dell Corporate Communications. This conversation was with the same contact that I have worked with in relation to this site and Dell Axim for 3+ years. Basicly, when the stock is gone, the Dell Axim will no longer be on sale. They plan to continue to carry other devices, but they are no longer manufacturing Dell Axims.
I think most won't give up hope or believe this until they see it taken off the website or see a press release. Well, first off, you will never see an "official" press release from Dell stating this. Why would they? Remember the death of the Dell DJ? A local newspaper broke that open, there was nothing ever official published. It just disappeared. The Axim will too, SOON.
As for future models from Dell, I hope so, but I am not optimistic. I am being told no right now. I got an email yesterday about a rumored new WM6 phone from Dell. If the source article wasn't posted on April 1st, I may have posted something, but it was... so I ain't going on that limb. April Fools. I hate to get gotten on that day. :)
I know that there is supposedly a Tablet in the works, but I don't have any info I can share at this time.

Well DELL never "manufactured" any Axims in the first place HTC did, and now HTC is starting to market their own brand more and more, as for a tablet that could very likely be (or based on) the HTC Shift.
It would be nice if it was like the Shift. I love it. Got some hands on time at CTIA. BUT... Don't let HTC hear you call it a UMPC.

haha... Yep, the same thing one of you sent in. I would bet that it's just a April Fools Joke. It was posted April 1, 2007.

I got rid of my Axim several months ago. The device never completely lived up to my expectations, and I had grown increasingly disillusioned with Dell. I have no more Dell products (after owning several of their PCs). The company displays no customer loyalty, so why should I show any company loyalty? And I haven't replaced my Axim with another electronic PDA -- I'm back to paper, which is lower-stress and less maintenance. I would not expect any amount of feedback from this group to convince Dell to change course. It's not the company's style. Good luck to you all.

Too bad that had to happen. I, on the other hand, have been pleased with both of the items I've purchased from Dell. As to the tech-support end of it I can't really comment as I have a slight edge with my brother-in-law being a high-level tech-support leader, so I get quick response when I deal with him. The products, though, have been excellent.
Okay, I was just cruising the Dell website on both Home&Home Office and Small Business websites and I do not see a Dell Axim anywhere. I only see accessories for the Axim available. Is this truly the end!?
all 3 members of the x51 family are still on the UK site
