I was in there a lot when it first went up but got disappointed when no one seemed to be going in there.
I wish more people would take advantage of it as you did a lot for us to get it up & running and people had been requesting the chat. But, I would understand if you were considering taking it down (or had to take it down). I don't know what kind of space it takes up to have the chat (or the cost) (?)...I just don't know that kind of stuff (?). But, I DO appreciate all that you did to provide it for us :)

I really enjoy visiting the chatroom and have met lots of great people there as a result. I understand that it takes up resources, but PLEASE don't take it away if you don't have to!!! (But then again, I would understand if you had to...)

Thanks,

Gigi:p

I went into the chat once. It was filled with kids speaking their own strange language (hey, I'm in my late 30's so I use English...just call me lame I guess... :D ). Everyone was making funny noises and having a great time , but nothing about Ax's or software or anything important. So I left it and haven't found a need to go back in.

If Late 30's = "Old Farts", then what's a Mid+ 40er?!!?

.
.

Chat Rooms for chatting are great for those who like 'em.

Me?....I think the only thing detrimental to a Tech Site having a Chat Room is, much useful information goes the way of old farts........lost in the wind.

Chats aren't searchable and some good ideas and help just goes bye-bye!

star50fiveoh, you do have a point, but sometimes, you just don't want the things you've typed to be archived!!! hehehe

I'm not referring to "those" type of things! ;)

Just those technical conversations where good advice is lost to the ether!

Well checked out the Chat Room yesterday and made 2 new friends here on the site. Yes I am a newbie but enjoyed the conversation and got some good tips from the other individuals. Also be careful about the comments about the "old farts" as I would more than likely fit into that category, LOL! At any rate, am looking forward to being able to talk to more people on this site through the forum. Thanks...:P

okay...no more 'old farts' talk...off topic (sorry)...that had come from a conversation my brother & I had the other day about some 20 year olds playing their music too loud down the street. Kinda felt like my grandma complaining about it...yet I'm sure somewhere in my past, I ticked someone else off doing exactly the same (or probably worse) thing. So, that's where that comment came from :)

What? You weren't the sweet little angel you seem to be on the board? ;)

I was so good and pure I had a halo ...with a real deep red tint to it :D

Experience & wisdom comes from making mistakes...so I must be very wise by now. At least I've smartened up enough to know what an idiot I was when I was a kid. I wonder how I survived sometimes...

As for the chat, I think it can be a fun diversion but it isn't the place to really get the info "out there". As has been mentioned, it can't be archived.

Chrissss...yes, I agree....the chat can be fun but when it comes to solving Axim problems or tracking potential problems to avoid, the archived info is what we need. I've learned a lot of what not to do with my Axim just by going through the forums & reading the posts.

And, yeah, there's a lot to be said for experience & wisdom but, there are some days I still find it was easier when I was a teenager and "had it all firgured out". :)
