In theory, I was in production today. I'm going to see what happens tommorrow but my patience with Dell overall, not just the Axim situation, is wearing very thin.
I saw a message on the Dell forum from someone who ordered 2003 and received 2002!

I voted loyal to Dell, mostly because I don't have money for a 2210. If I was just about to buy, then I would probably have to go witht eh 2210. I still love my baby though, and even if I did replace it, I would end up missing it.

dangit, Dell, don't do this!!!! oh the humanity. If the patch release date winds up in late august, this new axim is going on eBay for sure, and hp-compaq is going to....[struggles through involuntary muscle spasms]....GET MY MONEY.
sigh. $294 for the hp2210....

I voted loyal to Dell, HOWEVER
IF I were in the same boat as some people
with a completely bad PDA till the patch arrives
IE: People who ordered recently and got a PDA
w/ defective 2003....
However I have 2002, and have no problems
with 2002.... so I dont have any problem waiting...
All though, as a developer its kind of annoying
not being able to test in WM2003...

I am so mad that my first experiance with a PDA has been kind of lame. meaning the slow down in many programs is awful. especially that #@%$?$# MS reader. wow, i really hate that thing. it should NOT take 7 mins to open an ebook!!!!!
anyone know when the patch is coming out???? cause if its not REALLY soon i will send this thing back.
Im SUPER PI$$ED, this is BS. Im a newbie that is "trying" to purchase an AXIM? I really dont care about the 2003 upgrade, just send me my AXIM, and let me make the decision on whether or not I would like to upgrade. I thought I was paying for quality, but Im paying for delays! If I dont recieve this AXIM by August 5 then I will definately become an IPAQ user. I hope reps from Dell come to this forum so they can see fiirst hand how ridiculous this "delay" is! Compaq, would never do something stupid like this, not even (gulp) Palm!Time is ticking and Im seriously like everyone else......LOSING MY PATIENCE!

Then call Dell and tell them you want it with the PPC2002 OS. They should be able to do something, a possible comprimise, to satisfy you.
Compaq wouldn't do anything like that anymore because they no longer exist.
