When DS International created a case for Dell Axim, they did not follow the design that other manufacturers have been using. They could have. But they listened to what Axim users have been saying about other cases instead and came up with their own unique case design. Did they make the right decision? Read Mike C's Pocket Armor review article and find out how their design would affect the way you carry and use and carry your Axim.
I just got my DS case, and I love it. I actually like it more than I did the Rhino that I had. It is much easier to use in the case than the Rhino, and I love that the flip goes up instead of to the side. I don't use the belt clip, so I don't know how good that is though.

As stated by another review, my belt clip also broke. You can purchase more at any cell phone store. I made a minor modification to my case that afforded me a little more access to the charging light, on/off button. The little indent in the upper part of the case that lets you turn the unit on/off covers the charging light indicator. When the Axim is still in the case and you charge it, you can't see the light indicator. I took a 13/64th bit and hand turned it to open the hole. Now during charging out of the cradle and in the case I can see the light and tell when the unit is fully charged and turn the unit off/on with ease. ;-)
I have the DSI. Personally, I like it. It fits snuggly around the Ax and allows access to all the various features. I like the added protection is gives my Ax, the flip-top screen cover, and the light weight. As has been mentioned by other members, the clip s*%ks. Mine broke when I sat in my chair on the third day. It was easily replaced, but the added hassle and expense was annoying.
With the Aximsite discount, it was about $25. Fair deal.
Yeah, I just traded my spare battery and cash for an extended battery now that I have the DSI. Another great benifit of having it.

i also have the ds case but i lost the clip. i went to a store and purchased another clip but it doesn't work as well as the original. it tends to slip out very easily. any suggestions.
thanks.
I won this case through a contest. I believe it's the latest version as there is no tab and inside is lined with cushioning form.
I've used it for slightly over a week and have no urge to put my Rhino-Skin aluminum back, mainly because of this case's ability to hang on my belt and that the cover open upward for easier holding.
I like it quite a bit.
However, there is one issue. The hinge is not able to hold the lid in place, unless the latter is in almost upright position. I thought the notches on left side of the hinge are designed to hold lid at various positions. But they couldn't. As a result the lid can come back down during usages.
Hopefully DSI can get this issue solved. Otherwise this is pretty much my ideal case.
Cheers.
Ehien

I agree with the hinge issue. In the video on their site, the one shown does stay in place, but I noticed that it is the older style. On the plus side, I recieved my High Capacity Battery today, and this case works like a charm for it!

It does work great with the battery, doesn't it? The hinge on mine works a little. It will stay open at about a 25 degree angle, but that is about it, unless it is all the way up.
