Ok, I'm going to bite the bullett and take this like a man. I've had this program for a couple of months and there's one thing that's been nagging me... How do you do a simple calculation like 2+2=4? I can easily find the 2 button and the + button, but where is the = button? It's driving me mad!!!

RPN or Reverse Polish Notation is different that a simple calculator. To do your example you do the following:

2 enter
2 enter
+

That will give you the result of 4...

I tried the HP 15C version, I liked it and it was cute to have the calculator that I used in college on my Ax. However, I couldn't justify paying for it when StatsNow has a freeware program (CalcNow) that is also RPN and also shows the stack.

It was actually an old DOS RPN calculator program that taught me how to use RPN. When you can see the keystrokes you save by using the stack, the benefits of RPN become clear. After playing with the DOS program for a while, I didn't need to see the stack anymore to use it.

Cool Just purchased it...

I actually just purchased this program yesterday. I have used HP calculators for a while, and love RPN compared to algebraic entry. The calculator is well thought out, and is almost EXACTLY like the original product. It is reliable, and well written.

I highly recommend this software to anyone looking for a nice replacement to the standard calculator at a VERY fair price!

Thats what I liked about it. I used the 12c every day for the past 15 years and now I can leave it on the shelf. I just wish the "X" would go away because its way to close to the "+" for my tastes.

This is great software - it saves me from having to carry my 12C around with me.

This only works if you are adding 2 numbers together. Try adding 2+2+2 and you still get 4. The enter key is basically a key to clear what is already there and enter the first number. You then enter the second number and press the function you want. For example, 2+2+2 would be.

2 enter
2 +
2 +

The same is true of any math function. 5 enter, 5 enter x will give you 25. 5 enter 5 enter, 5 enter x will still give you 25 while 5 enter 5x5x will give you 125.

Right, I was showing how to add 2+2=4... I really didn't need the second enter as you pointed out.

Thanks for clearing that up. I have a financial calculator, but it doesn't use RPN. This is just something that I'll need to learn for this program.

This looks great. Did anyone else notice that the price on the site is $12.99 and the price in the review is $19.99? Not complaining, just wondering if I'm missing something.
