I confess, I have downloaded pirated software, but the more I use my Ax, the more I just decided to pay for what I use.

A number of reasons, one, I saw on a site people getting really upset at not being able to crack a certain application on a smartphone, and saying they REALLY needed it, I was the same, it was indispensible to me - so I thought - well why the hell don't I pay for it! I use it everyday and it is great!

Since then I have paid for every bit of software I use - and I have had a number of issues which I have had sorted by the developer as I can get support as I am registered.

I have also been able to get new licence codes when I have changed devices as once again, a record exists of my purchase. Mostly free, but occasionally for a nominal charge.

The problem is, that piracy is addictive, peopel end up downloading practically anything as it is free, stuff they would never normally use. They therefore think the price is too high as they don't use the product that much.

A lot of people say they cannot afford Adobe PS but how many actually NEED it?

In the same way, how many people really NEED the power of Excel? I reckon 95% of Excel users, mainly at home do no more than add a few columns up and do a % calc.

well YES it is expensive for that, but if you are doing complex analysis of many data streams that simply couldn't be done by hand then I would say it is invaluable.
