Good to know, I haven't checked the site since I downloaded 1.1
This is really kinda sad though, the developers were so pumped about the new playlist manager. I am totally in the group that just can't figure it out, and find it to be a total PITA. CoreTheque might be cool if it was on a PC, or part of some home entertainment system, but I think it is waaaaay too complex for a PDA.
Kudos to them for giving us the option to disable it, however. :approve:
Yes, they put it back - enough people complained that they made the new CoreTheque an option, rather than the 'only' choice. At least they listen to the users' feedback and incorporate some of it. ;)
yay for the new build, seems a bit faster, but word of warning if u get an error on invalid serial number just delete the config file in application data\coreplayer and it would be fine
dinghani: If they're Itunes Plus, it SHOULD play them. If it's (locked) iTunes AAC files, then it probably won't, but neither can PocketPlayer or any other paid (much less free) music player that I know of.
Technically, the FLV plugin is illegal according to Adobe, as you're not supposed to be able to play it in a program OTHER than an Adobe player; basically, running an FLV in something other than the Adobe Flash Player is a violation of some of their terms of use.
Thanks; it's time someone mirrors the FLV plugin before it gets removed ;)
BTW, I will try to, at last, publish my BIG multimedia + streaming + podcast and the like (series of?) article(s) in August, for both the PPC and SP. Glad I waited this long - I don't need to constantly update my articles with new info :)
I'll feature CorePlayer (and all the other available players) too, using an easy-to-compare approach.
We plan on updates every few week after Milestone versions... atm we have at least 2 more updates before we release 1.2 with the UPNP (client/server/RUI), RTP/RTSP/RDP, webserver addition and HTML renderer additions.
Also with a 1.2.x version we now going to be adding an micro SVG renderer. This was not planned at all... but with the work we re doing with Universal skin and planning our CoreUI widget animations suite..... SVG is simply the best way to flawlessly do it.
Also on CoreTheque.... you will see massive changes in almost every every 1.x version of CorePlayer Mobile leading up to 1.5 early next year. Clearly making it easier and more usable is our larger goal but doing so without mimicking other like (PMP) solutions.
On comments of it being 'too powerful' for a mobile device, thats fine... i'll take that and we will listen to the community to make the changes they are suggesting. ATM CoreTheque as a DB is by far more powerful then even the iTunes DB and we are just starting to add many of the features that will make our mobile and desktop players even more powerful as it relates to CoreTheque.
The goal is 'end user power' and having the ability to use what you want... or more importantly WHAT YOU DON'T WANT and hence the reason to add the option to turn off the DB. This is our larger goal in going forward with all our various components and has been from the very beginning. It loads NOTHING unless its called for (This is why it runs with very little resources).
