While, I am fascinated by the iPhone, I am not standing in line today or planning to get one. On my way to the grocery store this morning, I saw two police cars and an armored truck in front of the AT&T store, so I suppose the iPhone has arrived here.  I tried to get a photo as I drove by using my AT&T 8525 (aka HTC TyTN and Hermes). There didn't appear to be a line (yet), but I didn't look inside the store.

I do, however, know a few people who are in line elsewhere. MobilitySite and Aximsite owner and administrator, Chris Leckness, is one of those waiting. I talked to him earlier and asked if he was in line and he said "No, I am in the waiting area, sitting around talking to some people". I don't know about you, but to me, this sounds like standing in line! He is hoping to get a phone and get it activated (using the new iTumes 7.3 needed to activate the phone) tonight.

What I am curious of.. ok not really. Is how many of them will have their iNvestments on ebay before they even get it home.

I'm not sure Chris even has iTunes on his computer anymore,lol. And a new version of iTunes (7.3) is required to activate the phone..... so everyone that has been sitting in line for day(s) has to download and activate the new version today.

I wonder what the odds are that the systems go down or the servers are "busy" and all those tired, anxious people.....who have just invested their hard-earned money....end up very frustrated by the end of the day? (not that I am a betting person)

The whole process has been entertaining to sit by and watch :)

EDIT: I did send him a SMS letting him know about the iTunes 7.3. Perhaps, his wife will download it for him?
