Network Wizard from HTC

htc-network-wizard-1 Do you travel a lot?  Have you found the need to change SIM cards to avoid costly roaming charges?  A lot of folks have and HTC has come up with a solution for folks that travel to different countries where a different SIM is needed.  So you change the SIM and now you have to deal with the connection settings ... not any more because thanks to the HTC Network Wizard, changing these mobile Internet settings is automatic and fast!

The good news is that this tool that will setup your device for your internet connectivity automatically, the bad news is that it is for HTC branded phones only. At this point in time, it is available for the HTC S710 only but they will be adding more of their devices to the list.

msmobiles.com has a review up of this neat utility that you just might want to head over and read.  Plenty of pictures accompany the review.  In the final analysis, MSMobiles said:

Conclusion: HTC Network Wizard is an excellent tool for rapid switching of mobile Internet connections and it even works automatically, or semi-automatically, because notification appears when SIM card is being changed. While HTC Network Wizard handles very well all major mobile operators, it is missing very badly when it comes to virtual mobile operators and pre-paid SIM cards - in these cases settings are missing and users are forced to configure settings manually. If you use regular SIM cards with monthly subscription fees however, it works very well.

This is a great idea. I wish it showed up on EVERY unlocked phone. my iPAQ 6945 downloaded my connection settings without ever displaying any kind of wizard, though. It just worked and wasn't an issue. Insert SIM, turn on, wait a few moments for the settings to take effect, and that was it.
