Just learnt that there is something called "Backup" and that I ought to do it sometimes! And apparently Sprite Backup is the best for the job - thus I NEED to win this prize

I know very well all that practices, but I'd like to remark this:
"4. Maintain at least four backups at all times - we recommend at least 2 of these be on your PC so that they are available in the event of device or memory card loss or theft."

Doesnt this sound familiar:

How much time have you spent personalizing your device to make it “Smart”?

Are you prepared to do it again?

Have you installed themes, ringtones, games, productivity apps, or utilities?

Do you have the time to re-install?

Have you installed applications and customized preferences such as playlists, settings?

Want to repeat the steps?

I learned that there is actually some piece of software which could save all this time!!! As opposed to the backup software I am using right now, which just saves PIM info.

Yes, I would definitely like to win this contest!!

This software is very good. I have 2 lite versions on my ipaq4150 and 4350. It was installed in ROM and called IPAQ Backup. But actually it is very old version of Sprite Backup ( rom date is 2004). Working nicely anyway.
Want a copy for my x51v.

this is what I liked the most,

"Only Sprite Backup supports restoring an image after a device gets a ROM upgrade "

besides the fact that it backs up automatically, to SD and to PC, and it's a complete backup.

Fully insured with Sprite Backup.

Always practice a restore before you actually have to rely on it.

And currently I don't even backup

I need to win ;)

Ravi.

I thought 7. was a good idea:

7. Dedicate a storage card for backup purposes and label it. Keep it separate from your device.

Memory is so cheap - why not just buy a spare card and keep your back up's there?

I've learned that since I can't seem to leave my Treo alone and stop tinkering with it, I need to backup.

Keeping at least 4 backups is a smart idea -- though I would be happy with at least one up to date backup!!

I learned that despite doing backups now and then I do need to automate the process, use an external storage device (such as SD memory cards) and take care of configuration and not only tasks/calendar/contacts/etc.

I've learned that I'm already implementing a great backup strategy but need to maintain the security of my backup with a password.
