That Sprite is not a company that originates in the US because they spelled practices with an "s"!
P.S. - And that #8 is a really nice way of saying R.T.F.M.
P.P.S. - And I really really need to start backing up my data! :approve:

Probably the best thing is that Sprite can create a self extracting executable to restore in case of hard reset while away from your computer (which can be stored on a memory card).
I almost needed this this past week while on vacation. I was switching batteries, and when I turned my Axim back on, it took me to the align screen and was kind of stuck there, but was showing a partial today screen. After a soft reset, it was OK, but it was a real scare.
I've been watching the SPB vs. Sprite discussions in the forums for a while. I am an SPB owner, and I'm reasonably happy with ease of use, but my sense from the forum discussions I've read is that Sprite is slightly better featured. What I learned at the Sprite site, and this is something that I wasn't aware of, is that Sprite will do backups directly to a PC. That's pretty cool. I know I could and should be copying my backups from my SD card to PC, but, damn, that's just one more step that gets in the way of actually doing it.
(I should also automate backups and test my restores, but I rarely get around to doing that, too.)
"5. Set a password - password protect your valuable backups to eliminate the risk of your data being compromised."
..never passworded any of my backups before. Sounds like a good thing to-do, even if my data isn't super-sensitive.

Actually, I didn't learn anything. But I've been backing up my systems for years. I backup the Ax by syncing with Outlook (in VMWare as I cannot sync with the KDE address book) and I copy my important files for other apps (like PhatNotes) to the SD card. That way, even if I don't have another Ax, I can read the files on my home computer.
