Engadget Mobile is reporting that in "AT&T upgrade-land" there is the newest and freshest Windows Mobile 6 release, and it's free.

While it is NOT an OFFICIAL AT&T update, it is a real update for the 8525 from HTC.  The build is listed as 3.57.502.1 with a ROM date stamped 07/10/07 and radio version 1.48.00.00.

They won't divulge the secret resting place but made a game of it by hinting that the xda-developers forums will probably give you some good results.  For me, I'll wait for the official release ... well, maybe not!

It seems a bit snappier... of course, I haven't yet loaded it up with all the stuff I seem to need, but it certainly isn't worse.

Everything seems to be working just fine.

I tried it as well. Upgrade went smoothly. But I already had a Cingular/AT&T branded phone to start with. Everything works fine, and it looks like this ROM is the real deal. All the expected AT&T/Cingular Apps are there just as in the WM5 version :)

I can't believe it. I was able to follow the instructions correctly. i'm a proud new papa of my very own wm6 8525. as mentioned earlier, its a bit snappyer,

I like the PIE more on the WM6.
