You might try copying the "to" , "subject" and the welcome text into your pop accounts. That's what I did to sent the email. I'll let you know if it works.
I didn't get one of the first 1500 subscriptions, but I got an email saying that they were going to give away a few more a day starting August 4th. I have sent an email everyday and I finally got my serial number. So keep trying. Go the home page, go the zagat to go on the left hand side and on the mobile home page select somewhere in the visa signature line.
I got my free subscription yesterday and just now installed and activated it. I had to do it from my desktop b/c I don't have any email accounts setup on my Axim... I just use webmail for both personal and corporate email accounts. PIE handles my corporate Outlook webmail very well.
Before i start my questioning, just wanted to thank everyone and above all Jack, who put up the posting.
OK...
so when i went to the link, it said to press the button, so i did, it wanted me to sign in to my microsoft passport etc. i found out why when i was logged into my email account with hotmail.
So i did, it provided me with the automatic reply, so i just sent that.
Now what?
How long to wait to get a response?
Just curious, those of you who recieved their subscription...

Good Luck and keep trying.
I ended up the same way. So at least I got a free year.
I'm not sure how much faith to put into Zagat's though. They charge the owners of the establishement for the review. I guess the more you pay, the better the review? Although they were right on about several that I frequent in my area.

Not sure how the online site works, but the original premise was users wrote in their impressions, and it was not paid advertisement for the establishment. I have found that the impressions at least for restaurants are what you would expect from real people, not food critics. Sometimes I agree with "real people", but often I don't. Just knowing where I tend to diverge from "real people" and where I don't makes the reviews useful.
