Missing Sync for WM6, version 4.0, will be out soon!
Mark/Space has published an FAQ on their website, and a beta version is available as well.
Several notable new features:
Support for Windows Mobile 6 Devices
As mentioned above, devices running Windows Mobile 6 will be supported with this new release of The Missing Sync for Windows Mobile. If you have a Windows Mobile 6 device, we encourage you to download the current preview release (link at end of page) and try it with your device. If you run into a problem please report it on the forum.
Imports Video from Camera-Enabled Devices (Note: This feature is not yet implemented, but will be soon.)
The new Video plugin automates the process of getting videos taken with a Windows Mobile device onto your Mac. They can be imported into a folder on the Mac, such as the Movies folder, or directly into an iPhoto album you've selected. Imported videos can be played back on the Mac using QuickTime Player.
Encodes Video for Windows Mobile Devices (Note: This feature is not yet implemented, but will be soon.)
The new Video plugin will also convert video content on your Mac for playback on your Windows Mobile device. Simply drag and drop a video file onto The Missing Sync, and an included helper application uses QuickTime to encode the video into the proper format and resolution for your specific device. Most file types supported by QuickTime (and add-ons, such as Flip4Mac for WMV files) can be encoded. Videos finished encoding are then downloaded to the device's memory expansion card during the next sync operation, where they can be viewed with the player software on the device.
Call Log Support
The new Mark/Space Call Log plugin downloads device call log data to the Mac, where it can then be viewed, sorted, searched, filtered and annotated using the included Call Log application for Mac OS X. The Call Log application integrates with Apple's Address Book to display additional information for each known contact, including contact photos and company names. Toolbar buttons provide quick access to a contact's record in Address Book and an easy way to create new Address Book records from any call made or received. You can export all call log data in CSV format for use in Excel or importing into a database for further manipulation.
SMS Text Message Support
The new Mark/Space SMS Log plugin reads SMS messages from your Windows Mobile device and copies them to the Mac, where they're accessed with the included SMS Log application for Mac OS X. As with the Call Log application, integration with Address Book provides additional information for known contacts, such as contact photo and company name. Messages are sorted by contact, and you can use Spotlight searching to locate particular text. You can also export the entire message log for use with Excel or other data manipulation applications.
