Apple, Multi-Touch and the Future...

mult

Apple has a NEW patent application, called "Multi-Touch gesture dictionary" that is very interesting and will eventually change how we interact with our devices.  I was intrigued with the drawings and the possibilities that will exist for how users will interact with their applications.

PC Joint has a short piece that you too might be interested in.  In part, they said:

To make your next Multi-Touch Macbook or iMac, Apple will create an interactive Multi-Touch gesture dictionary software application. This application identifies a chord (e.g., a combination of fingers, thumbs, and/or other hand parts) presented to the multi-touch interface by the user and displays a dictionary entry for the identified chord

Multi-Touch dictionary can be a separately installed application or it can be made a part of Mac OS running in the background, translating various Multi-touch gestures into a commands for other applications.

Think of the possibilities ......
