VLC media player

Do you deal with a lot of different media files for a variety of devices?  Are you always searching for the right media player to use?

VLC If you are then you might want to consider using VLC Media Player. VLC media player is a multimedia player that can be used for a variety of different audio and video formats (MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, mp3, ogg, ...) as well as DVDs, VCDs, and various streaming protocols.

It can also be used as a server to stream in unicast or multicast in IPv4 or IPv6 on a high-bandwidth network.

It is very cool and it is FREE.  Check out the VLC media player here.

Kinda reminds me of TCPMP. But its good to have some competition, b/c maybe it will convince the makers of tcpmp to release a new version.

I see they are in the works for a ppc version, so tcpmp, lookout!

This is a great player, one that I've used for quite a while now. A Windows Mobile version would indeed be great!

I installed this player on my xp sp2 pc, and it is slow and unresponsive. This could be my pc, b/c it is in need of a fresh reinstall, but it acted wicked slow.

Ill stick with tcpmp until they get the bugs worked out, unless its just my pc, which is a possibiliy.

VLC is great player. I use it as default player on my PC. It is free and even better because it is open source. Unfortantly pocketpc version is still 'experimetal' and unstable.

I really like it and it's my PC multimedia player. Didn't know they're working on a version for the PPC, :approve:
