Powertrip, nothing. This is basically Chris' forum, which means his rules are what guide it. If you start using racist language in my house, I have every right to kick you out, 'freedom of speech' notwithstanding.
Plus there have been other forums which have been receiving love letters from Microsoft's lawyers - this is a precautionary measure as much as anything - unless, of course, you're willing to pay Chris' legal bills...
So I assume that LINUX rams are legal to discuss? I don't know anything about them, I just think that it will make for more interesting pocket pc's in the future.

As long as they follow the GPL's terms with regards to distribution of the ROM images, it's legal. Decompiling Windows Mobile is NOT legal... but putting new OS's on the hardware shouldn't be an issue.
Actually, HP's 210 seems to be an hx4700 successor, with similar (or better) stats than the Axim, minus the Intel 2700g graphic accelerator. They've got a couple of stand-alone PDA's, which suggests that businesses have spoken up and HP's listening to them ("We want PDA's with three-years of guaranteed support. We don't want no stinkin' phones to compromise our security!")
By the way, you do realize that talk about the WM6 ROM is most definitely 'not kosher', right? :D

You should have stopped right there......Your reply is more than "not kosher!" It is blatently in violation of forum policy.
Did you even read Chris' first post here? This thread firmly establishes the forum policy. Did you miss that? There is no room for debate here, and your justifications for why you are running this illegal ROM on your pocket pc are not the least bit relevant to this thread.

Two men meet in the middle of the desert, one is carrying a closet and the other one an anvil:
- Why do you have a closet?
- Because if a lion appears I can be hidden inside the closet. Why do you have an anvil?
- If a lion appears I start to run and when the lion is going to catch me… then I throw the anvil so that I can run faster!
Sorry for the translation but it is a popular Spanish joke, it is so popular that when something goes slowly we usually say that it is an anvil.
My X51v was my first PDA and I chose it because it seemed to me the most powerful in town. I was happy with it until I had the chance to play with a couple of X50v (WM2003) then I saw I had just an anvil.
Same thing happened to me when I started to use Windows 2000 and XP, they were not usable until they reach second service package. I did not give a try to Vista, but as far as I read it is another anvil. It will become usable when next Windows Vienna will be available.
With first (and unique) Spanish ROM upgrade my PDA started to be usable but still a small anvil compared with a X50v.
I gave a try to latest warez WM6 ROM and I will just say It finally throws the anvil away.
All of you know my effort to help to consider legal the use of unofficial WM5 ROMs.
You also know my effort to find a way to legally use WM6, but… what happens if no way is found?. Think about this:
This is a very uncommon case where a warez software does not have the equivalent legal software.
From my point of view it is an untenable situation:
Little by little all people will upgrade SO, including people who do not like piracy, because as I said before there is no legal chance.
People with new SO will start to have problems, as usual, and they will need to talk about it.
Little by little people will migrate to other rooms where possible share new problems.
I hope I do not break the rules with this post, but my intention is only to make a serious warn about the future of the forum.
If you disagree or you feel it is an exaggeration just wait a couple of moths and make a new poll thread asking people for Windows version they are using.

He is not condoning or encouraging the use of pirated software; instead, he is simply offering a prediction of the obstacles that will face the site as the illegal use of WM6 becomes more prevalent, and our policy stays in place. There's nothing wrong with that - indeed, we welcome the input of our members.
