Alright, Bummer, it says
badersk on the front page, but that was me, I tell ya!!!
I will add a few thoughts here...
Recently, I have been perusing the Linux for iPod forums, and lemme tell ya, the prospect of seeing Linux adapted to this
touchscreen, WiFi iPod just makes me giddy.
Some points, comparing the new Touch with another WiFi-enabled personal media player, the Zune:
- Zune was the first with WiFi. But you can't surf, sync to your desktop computer, or shop MS's tunes site. iPod Touch allows you to surf the internet and shop iTunes. Tunes bought "on the go" via WiFi will be added to your iTunes library on your computer when you sync. SMACK!
- Zune doubled Apple's video iPod screen area with a 3 inch display. iPod Touch now sports a 3.5 inch display. SMACK!!
- Touchscreen interface, need I say more? SMACK!!!
- Flash memory instead of a hard drive means longer playtimes. SMACK!!!!
- Zune has an FM tuner, Touch has none. One for Zune.
- Zune has 30GB of storage, iPod touch either 8GB or 16. One more for Zune
And no, I am not an Apple fanboy; in fact, I usually enjoy messing with their heads. This looks like it just may become my first Apple product.
