Interesting.
The program is made by the actual iPhone Developer Team, which says that it should work better than the iPhoneSIMfree application. That they acknowledge it is not for the faint of heart indicates that they accept their program is of a lower quality than a 3rd party application, which is scary to say the least.
And while (I believe) a 3rd party is free to create and distribute an unlocking program, for Apple iPhone Dev Team to release such a program will likely make them guilty of a breach of contract with AT&T. It could be that Apple wants out of the agreement now that they have a good possibility of buying the new FCC bandwidth coming due in 2009...
