At Last... Mobilitysite's HTC Advantage Unboxing

After 9 months, 40+ Posts about the device, and a couple hands on sessions of my own, I have one to show you guys. I posted a short video from CTIA 2007 in Orlando back in March, but this is the unboxing.

Enjoy the video. I will post more video soon and look for the written review in a week or two. Off to play more!

Hi Chris,

Would be interested in hearing how the VGA out functions compare to the x51v.

Was considering this until hp announced the ipaq 200 enterprise series. Would be interested in knowing your take on the HTC x7501 against the ipaq 200 series.

Thanks.

Very cool. I never would've imagined the old IPAQ 4700 being that close to it in size ...

I like it too but I am still going to wait on the shift. I need it for Automotive diagnostic software.

I'm waiting for a PDA/phone with VGA, 3.5"+ screen, 3G connectivity, and GPS. The Advantage might be the one. What I'd like to know is: what is it like to make a phone call with this thing. Assuming the device (and bluetooth headset) are turned off. If I power up the Advantage & headset, can it be setup so that they pair automatically? Can I keep the Advantage closed and initiate the phone call from the headset? To receive a call: assume the Advantage starts ringing. Do I just turn on the headset and start talking?

Maybe it would be worth waiting for a device one can hold to their head to make phone calls? Perhaps the HTC Polaris, Omni, or some other upcoming device?

Thanks

In short yes. I am writing something up right now about the Advantage and it's use as a PDA.

With a Bluetooth headset and Voice Command, you could leave it in your bag and make calls. That's how I have been using it today.
