Well. I was quite excited with the announcement of the $100 Gift Card offer from Apple for being a "Early Adopter". I have purchased 3 of the iPhones, so I should get $300 back. Getting back something is always good, right?

Well, late last week, the details on how to get this rebate came online. I got the $100 gift card for the iPhone I signed up with my number and used for 3 weeks, but it looks like the receipents of my contests will get the $100 for the other two.

The process of getting this card requires the Serial Number and the Phone Number of the phone. If you bought an iPhone and never activated it, you are not eligible. That said, if you bought the phone and sold it or gave it away, you never activated it so there is no number to redeem it with.

Oh well, I tried. Every dollar helps when you have a gadget addiction like me.

I think your contest winners should give you the 100 bucks back. They didn't pay for the phone they shouldn't get the rebate. But that just my humble opinion.

Most people do not pay for items they win in a contest, except gift tax here in the U.S.

Last time I checked, and the way I see things, you give a gift, you do not ask for part of it back.

The gift card just becomes a part of the gift that the winners nor Chris knew of at the time.

I would not give it back and would not feel bad for keeping it.
