Can Anyone Recommend a Microsoft Exchange Server Host?

I have been using 4smartphone.net for a while now and today I decided I need to leave them. I am asking for your suggestions. What do I need in a solution?

  • Decent Storage
  • Exchange Server 2007 is not required, but plans to upgrade to it would be
  • Price is not really a big concern, I am willing to pay a fair price
  • Ability to forward serveral accounts to the same provide "forward to address"

I am not saying that 4smartphone.net is a bad company, but I need to be able to speak to a real person once in a while. I am in the process of migrating my address and my staff members addresses from @aximsite.com to @mobilitysite.com and need to speak to someone to get suggestions on the best way to do this with their new 2007 servers. I sent in an email this morning asking for a call. Long story short, I finally got an email that didn't address my issue after 5-6 hours. With most of a Friday gone, I just decided it was time to move on and now I am in the market for another company.

Maybe I was being a little petty, but I almost left them a couple weeks ago because a) I was lied to and b) they wanted to charge me to upgrade to the 2007 servers (not by my choice) when I still have credit left on my 1 year of prepaid service.  4smartphone is now upgrading to Exchange Server 2007 now and in order to migrate, I was forced to make a choice of a new plan and pay up front for the 1st month when I still have some time left on my 1 year prepay. Why is that? It's not much money, it's principle. In addition, I was lied to and told that I was upgraded to 2007 back in March already.

5) In addition, we are taking the following steps concerning the current Exchange 2003 servers: 4SmartPhone is rolling out more reliable Exchange 2007 on a brand new architecture; The fact that Exchange 2007 is more robust and combined with the new architecture, any failure are less likely, simpler and faster to recover from should we have to.

This was bullet item 5 in an email from their support team to us that lost service for more than a week. In fact, the week was during CTIA in 2007 and I was unable to access my calendar with all my meetings down there in Orlando. Maybe I misread this email, but it looks to me like we were put on an Exchange Server 2007 server at that time. I wouldn't have noticed anyhow since I wasn't using a Windows Mobile 6 Device until now.

I was pleased with 4smartphone for 99% of the time, but I am moving on. Please share your recommendations with me.

I've used 1&1 for my personal accounts for several years and been pretty happy with them, but I sure don't do anything on the Aximsite/Mobilitysite scale of things. :) My company used them for a few client websites (backend server type stuff). I'm not familiar with their business plan options myself though. You may want to take a look here. Business is about $9.99/month, and developer is about $19.99/mo.

123together.com

Just FYI, I personally work for 123together.com in their support department.

We offer 99.9% uptime for shared Server customers, 100% uptime for dedicated and out support office is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week Live from our Burlington, MA office.

We offer a forwarding address that will end with 123together.com, complimentary with any mailbox you set up. Each user will by default have 1 forwarding address.

We offer plan sizes from 500MB up to 3GB.

We offer 2007 Exchange but since SP1 hasn't been released yet we're still offering Exchange 2003 as well with migration plans to be determined once SP1 is installed, tested and stable. The migration will happen with plenty of notification, and with minimal downtime for customers that wish to migrate.

I'd be more than happy to share any other details or answer any questions that you may have, however if you take a look at the 123together.com website I think you'll get enough information to sign up for our 30 day no obligation trial.

I should probably also mention that we offer Blackberry Enterprise Server and Goodlink for a nominal fee. We include Wireless ActiveSync with your exchange mailbox, so you can access email from a SmartPhone or windows mobile device for free and it's extremely easy to set up.

If I've missed anything,, just PM me. We're ALWAYS on!!
