The flagship of SanDisk USB flash drives, Cruzer Contour features a sleek and stylish black glossy design. It also includes an innovative sliding USB connector that retracts into the body. The sliding USB connector eliminates the need for caps and protects the connector. Cruzer Contour is a high performance USB drive with minimum read speed of 25MB per second. Also includes U3 technology so you can carry your files and software on a secure USB drive. You can have your wallpaper, preferences, favorites, profiles and more. Compatible with Windows 2000, XP, Vista and Mac OS X v10.1.2 or later.
I just received the drive from Chris today and my inital view of it pretty much what Chris has said. It feels very solid and seems well constructed. This is the most unique design I've ever seen for a flash drive. It seems more like a switchblade to me than a thumbdrive.
Stay tuned for an indepth review.
Thanks Chris and Sandisk

I still have the plastic-case 2GB Cruzer with U3. I kind of like the U3 features, but wish I could load a more modern version of Firefox on the drive itself (it's stuck at 1.5). I wonder if they could make a custom launcher that would allow you to launch Portable Apps from the U3 launchpad (or automatically, for that matter)?

I have one of the 4GB Cruzer "Micro" drives (bought it about 4 months ago). It retracts like that one does but doesn't have the extra outside body to it - one-step slide/click and it's ready. Had a 512MB one before that. Very sweet. Very fast. Goes with me everywhere. 4GB is a BUNCH of storage to hang around your neck. Light - durable. Worth having.
the 8gb transcend I have is designed with the same slide as the cruzer micro... it lives on my key chain filled with a portableapps collection, and work projects

I've got that drive, it has been great so far, especially carrying around all the portable apps on it.
I thought I was going to die a horrible death watching you butcher the packaging though :). I've done some package design before and the time they spent on the internal boxing that mimics the action of the drive itself is pretty awesome. (You were supposed to press on that little hole on the right side.)
Ah well...still a great drive.
