I need this setup because we're going to borrow a pop-up trailer and take the kids to the Everglades to visit their grandparents this winter. If you've ever driven down into the Everglades, you know that if I park at a lookout area and get distracted (with kids? ) I could head out the wrong way without a gps and and have no sign until I drove all the way out. Please don't leave us stranded. Thanks,DaddyB
I believe that I should win this GPS, my family and I, all 7 of us do a lot of traveling and it is always usefull to have a GPS. Being that I am a guy, I don't stop for directions, and therefore a gps system would assist me on my trips, and most likely save me a lot of headaches.
Having recently made the difficult change from my Axim 50v to the HTC 8525 I attempted to load my iNavigation software to link to my bluetooth GPS unit. It was very disappointing to find the application would not support smartphones. So this morning I started a quest to see what was available and my first stop was Aximsite. The site I have relied upon for my years of Axim ownership because in my personal opinion there isn't another site with comparable collective intelligence on the planet. So why do I need a navigation, its my other extracurricular activities. First is my involvement with Skywarn, I'm a registered severe weather spotter. Second is participation in RACES Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Services, my license is W7BDB. Toss in my real job as a facilities manager for Oregon Dept of Transportation where I have the responsibility to insure all 1150 buildings are functional to ODOT's mission of keeping the roads in this state safe. Oh I have regularly used my GPS for locating and measuring sites for aerial display fireworks, another labor of love. THE BISCHOF FAMILY WEB SITE
Oh let me count the ways I need a reliable GPS:
1-I am in a new job and new city,
2-I can't count the time I wish I had help that is pretty,
3-I am sent from new place to strange place without directions,
4-I am regularly lost in all this indecision,
5-ANd my frutration inhibits my introspection.
Help this new college prof find a navigator that does not have to stop at every bathroom or starbucks :)
Because no one has made a new device that can match my Axim X50v that has a GPS built in. I keep waiting for someone to come out with a device that has a VGA screen as nice as the ax with built in GPS and a good processor that runs a decent OS and all the software that I run now but HP, HTC, ASUS, etc. all keep missing the boat in at least a couple of categories.
I need to win this contest because I'M TIRED OF WAITING!!
So, I have an 8525, and while google maps is great and all, without GPS it doesn't exactly lend to efficiency. So I'd love one of these to help me figure out where I am when I'm lost on a delivery...
(the above should read: I'm a FedEx Ground driver, if you want your christmas presents I will win this VERY COOL DEVICE!)
