Like TouchFLO? Try Touch Commander

touchcommanderIt looks like a complete rip of HTC's TouchFLO Concept, but if you don't have an HTC Phone with TouchFLO, why not. For $14.95 you can add this to your device.

Touch Commander - a unique application for controlling PDA and smartphones by recognizing and responding to the touch and sweep of a finger across the screen. With Touch Commander in place, you get a one-touch access to phone calls, emails, SMS messages, calendar, appointments, applications and other commonly used content.

The "touchy-feely" effect provided by Touch Commander is much the same as the finger touch scrolling, browsing and spinning a three dimensional interface by the finger in the Touch phone by HTC TouchFLO or Apple iPhone. Touch Commander is customizable, letting you configure many of its settings. Another nice touch in the program is support for any model of PDA powered by Microsoft Windows Mobile 5 or higher. But the biggest specialty, of course, lies in the price, which is nothing compared to the prices of the hi-end phones.

Touch Commander makes a good antidote to the iPhone or TouchFLO envy. As the old English saying goes "If you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with." You can resist the Apple charmer's curves and touchy-feely navigation if you install Touch Commander. It'll make even an old school PDA look and feel so much stylish and fresh!

Get it here... Thanks Jim

I downloaded it and have found it to be buggy. I loaded some apps onto the software, as it works like a launcher. But it's stuck on that screen and won't go back to the main screen. I'm interested to see what others have experienced.

I uninstalled and reinstalled it and now it seems fine. It's a very cool program so far.

I couldn't get it to work at all on my treo 700w. It just generates an exception at start up.

yaa i really like it too, but twice now i have launched something that caused an error, when i try to launch touch commander again it gives me an "unexpected error message" the only way to be able to open the program is to uninstall, delete the folder from programs and then reinstall, hoping that i can avoid this problem from now on

I have the same problem.

I found two main problem. the first is the error announcement that makes you reinstall.
and the other is an error that clear all your menus in the program and you have only the question marks.

I wrote the support a letter but haven't got a replay yet.
I sure hope they will release a good update.

i found a sort of temporary workaround to the problems, if you make regular backups of the settings folder as you customize the menus, you should be able to revert back to when it was last working.

Doesn't matter how many times I uninstall and reinstall, it still won't work for me. And there is no touch commander folder left over to delete after the uninstall.

Extremely buggy. Tried to add an application and give an error message. After soft-reset, it displays a blank grid of 3 by 3 squares.

A promising app but seems rushed. Look at the misspelling of "FRENDS" for the category launcher. Hopefully v1.1 will be better.

To their credit--it works great on the Wing smartphone running WM6. But for other devices--you're on your own.
