Yes, that's what I want. They are damaging the UMPC market by releasing devices like the one I'm reviewing now that would have been a perfect machine if it was using XP and by installing Vista on it they just killed all the potentials that this machine could have had.
They can put Win98 for all I care, as long as it boots up and runs smoothly. :)

I agree! I loved it. :approve:
From time to time you have to apply some tricks to get the attention of readers. ;) And I'm happy to see that this trick is working in the way I was expecting. :D
The big question is will they actually STOP? Or even read your brilliant ripoff of a classic line?

are you actually doubting that within our readers we have few of those UMPC Makers and UMPC resellers? Who do you think sends me the UMPC to review? :hide:
Of course, that does not mean that they are going to stop because I said it. But they will read it. And even if they do not read it, I feel better after I said it. ;)
Ummmmm............... D'oh..
good point.
Power to the umpcs!

So you are agree with me, as long as it boots and runs smoothly. But with the A110 and Vista, it takes more than 2 minutes sometime to boot and they do not run smoothly. ;)
WinXP licenses will give out; they will not issue new consumer licenses after the end of the year, and how long will embedded licenses keep up? Linux is going to become the OS of choice in the UMPC market, just you watch!

As a non-umpc user I wasn't really aware of the Vista issues with these devices, I suspect the general public isn't either, so thanks Citantic for highlighting it.
Linux has been bubbling under for so long in the mobile world, that I'm beginning to wonder if it will ever come to the boil. Sharp, Yopi, Motorola, Palm, Intel, have all tried to push Linux into the mobile space and failed. Nokia have done a lot better than the others, but haven't been able to capture any of the mainstream audience who start and stop with XP/Vista.
Of course theirs Asus, who could really set things going with their mini laptop.., but it could be we're waiting for Apple to step into the market before things really get exciting :(
