iPhone and Microsoft Exchange Server 2007

ExchSvr07Ent_EN_web One of the reasons I disliked the iPhone was lack of full fledged Exchange Server support. In the last 5 months, Apple has addressed a couple of my initial concerns including 3rd party app support coming next year. But have they or any 3rd party company done anything to enable a good Exchange Server experience?

I signed up for a beta for a company called iPXSync that i found out about over on JKontheRun a while back, but nothing has happened with it yet, so I am not sure yet.

What I need to happen...
It's not neccesary that the email is "pushed" to the iPhone. I can wait for a check every 15 minutes or so. I do not want to have to delete 3-4 dozen emails when I get to my desktop after a day of checking mail on the run. Let's say I read 100 emails, reply to 20, and decided to get to a few later. If all the email shows up in Outlook on my desktop, I am going to have to strain my brain to remember who I replied to, who I need to reply to still, etc... You know what I mean. If this has already been worked around, i'd really like to know since I have to use the iPhone a couple days for testing. I really don't want to carry another phone to take care of things in addition to the iPhone.

Help Me!

Chris, the iPhone isn't alone. I am assuming you're talking about connecting through OWA? RIM still has issues with the Blackeberry Internet Service (BIS) connecting to OWA. I beleive it's the way MS structured Exchange on this release. I am not a programmer or MS network certified, but I beleive it's related to the way Exchage 2007 is configured.

Within the past week I finally got through and able to connect to OWA throught BIS.

...how?! I've got a Blackberry (Curve) and I can connect to my work Exchange account through BIS, but I cannot send emails via BIS through the same account. I receive emails, but I cannot send them. Very odd.

It's not a huge problem whilst I have BES access, but I may well be moving to another institution in the near future, who do not provide BES access.

Martin - it was as big a surprise to me as it is to yo.

I did not do anyting, IT did not change anything on the Exchange Server. I would try to set it up on my carrier's BIS site every couple weeks or so. I decided to try it again after being chided on another forum (never happens to me here) for posting that BIS and OWA 2007 don't work and play well together. Well it worked. I don't know if was carrier specific or continent specific. I even seached RIMs website and they still claim that there is no support. Nonetheless, it works. It syncs incoming, sent and deleted mail. It doesn' let me accept meeting request though. Exchange 2003 user report you can.
