Amazon Kindle vs PPC Reading in Sunlight Photos

Reading outside with my Dell Axim x51v or AT&T Tilt was sometimes a challenge.... because it was hard to read in direct sunlight.

I took my Amazon Kindle out in the back yard today so I could get some comparison photos for you.

Here are all three

Hard to  see the Dell Axim, can't see the AT&T Tilt, but the Amazon Kindle views fine. Here's a close-up of Dell Axim and AT&T Tilt (Axim needs cleaning and a new screen protector)

The Axim wins out over the Tilt, but the glare is still bad. Here is the Amazon Kindle:

Winner: Amazon Kindle (Page looks like a book might outside!)

That's what I'm looking forward to with the eBook reader I'm getting! Reading outside! But probably still won't want to take it to the beach....but then again, do you think there'll ever be an Otterbox for it?

No comparison, as I expected.. That thing is PAPER! I was amazed when Sony Reader came out when I first had my hands on it at the SonyStyle store here in NY.. That was just incredible. Looks like Kindle is exactly like that, and white border does help, too.

And in the dark... :-)

I am sure that my Hx4700 will fare better ;-)

I mainly use an ebook reader in the bed to read without disturbing my wife who prefers to sleep in dark (like many people ;-) ). But the pictures effectively advocate very well for Kindle in the sunlight...

OK, OK, the Kindle is a good ebook reader: I give up

Although I should say that the X51v would perform better if you took that crappy screen protector off! Moreover, I can't wait to see the comparrison photos of you with the Kindle in your trousers pocket.
