I have had an ipod for about a year now and use it daily with the kids in my preschool class. I store children's playlists for the themes we are talking about each week, I store educational shows and movies for those days that the weather keeps up too cooped up. All this has run the memory on that ipod to a mear 21 mb left...and a new year of activities is coming up. 80 GB would be another year and a half of programming for my class. I will have no problem keeping it for at least a year....and it will be greatly loved by my 30 preschool children!:approve:
The main reason I want this MP3 player is for myself, I'm not going to lie. I need an upgrade over my 3rd Gen, 10gb iPod (I like the design better, but it's extremely outdated and I have WAY more than 10gb of songs). But, one of the main reasons why I need a MP3 player is because I'm starting a club at school called Performers for the Community, or something of that sort. I've planned it out - since I go to an arts school, each person will contribute his or her own talent to it. But, I want to do a choral thing for the end, and an iPod would be helpful to teach the song to all of us, or play past performances.
I currently use my LG VX8100 for music but it is not for me that I seek to win. See, my wife  has a Nano for running, my sons each have Shuffles , but my 10 year old daughter has nothing except my old portable CD player - very sad indeed . After a long year of family medical issues I just don't have the money to buy her one :( . Of course, we would not sell it as I'm sure it would offer her many years of enjoyment. :yeah: Happy Holidays and thanks for reading.
I currently use a Virgin 5gb mp3 player that I purchased off Woot about 1 1/2 years ago. Lame does not begin to describe it, although it does play music pretty well, and I only have to re-boot about once a month (probably because I only use it a few times a month). Thanks!
Well,
Up until two months ago, my trusty old Axim 5 was my companion through thick and thin, even providing me the soothing music of Puddle of Mudd, Staind, 12 Stones, Hoobastank, Nickelback and the like. Then, my wife's Sony Clie died and she was in a panic. I finally trained her to use a PDA (if you call a Sony Clie a PDA?) and it dies on her. Well, chivalry isn't dead and I made the ultimate sacrafice. My wife now listens to Christian music on the Axim and I am one lost soul when it comes to listening to music. I haven't had any opportunity to even look for a replacement yet. Sorry to be so long winded but that's my saga. :o
I just use my Axim with a 1 gig SD card. It works but it's such a pain to turn the volume to max and the screen down to 15 secs every time I leave for work and then switch it all back when I get there. Then do the reverse for my walk back home (doin' my part for the environment). I sure could use this iPod!
I am currently using my Dell Axim X51v to listen to music, but since I am getting ready to confine my Ax to the house to free up some pocket real estate, I would rather have the Zune because I watched the videos and it looks like it would best fit my needs, but I will take what I can get. I would never, ever sell either device, I am an uber-nerd, and my command center wouldn't be complete without one of every consumer electronic device from the last ten years.

Zoinks! I absolutely ADORE my Ax X51v -- but with the extended battery and Rhino-Skin hard case ... well, the bulges in my shorts are a bit awkward at the gym. That ipod would be a big improvement :) -- and that baby (should it become mine) won't be leaving my hands for a long time ...unless my wife should overpower me (again)!
My wife took my 1GB 1st generation Nano hostage when she started teaching a dance class and needed to take music with her to the studio. So I'm in need of a new player and I'd prefer a device like the classic iPod where I can watch videos as well. And a 80GB portable hdd wouldn't be bad to have either. ;)
The reason I would love the iPod is at this time both of my daughters have an iPod and I don't. If I were to win this one I could tease my daughters and tell them that my iPod is bigger then your iPod (since they have a mini and a nano).
My 30GB Zen is almost full and I need more storage! :) Considering it took me several years to fill that one up, an 80GB iPod should last a whole lot longer.
