I think mobile tv is a little dumb. We're coming into the age of HD content. You can see the pores on athletes faces when they're playing for gods sake! I just don't see what's so desirable about staring down at my phone to watch 30 minutes of a tv show. The only place this -could- be useful is on long trips, like airplanes(where you can't use your phone anyways), or driving trips(where your service will cut in and out).
I even have a hard time with personal media players. Sure, the idea is good...but why would I load up my ipod with movies and tv shows. It's a total pain in the ass trying to stare at a tiny screen while I'm running on the treadmill, I can't see it when it's in my pocket, and my girlfriend gets pissed if I'm sitting on the couch playing with all my gadgets instead of her. *wink wink*
I'm all about technology, but you have to draw the line somewhere. About a year and a half ago, I gave up myspace, Instant messaging, online gaming. It's just too time consuming for very little gain. People aren't personal anymore. I don't ever want to fight with a loved one through aim, or get a message through myspace telling me my daughter is sick. While technology is great, the world is almost drowning in it. It's time to get out and go for a walk!
PS. I shut my cellphone off every night, when I have dinner, when I go to the gym, and when I do ANYTHING with my girlfriend. (blasphemy! I know...)
