God tip Non! It is such a huge update that it's confusing lot's of people, I never used weatherpanel, and Pocket weather is really complicated, it takes quite a lot of time to familiarise yourself with it!

I'm confused. Is it after 1 August or 1 September it's free? You say August. amitregev says 1 September.

I registered on the 9th of August.

I purchased pocket weather in November. I waited about 72 hours for an email, following their instructions, but one didn't come through--probably my filters at fault. I emailed and heard back within hours. They sent me a registration key for the free update. Their service is amazing and the programs are excellent.

I'm still confused tho. One AD says 1 September and another says 1 August.

I sent them an Email today. So, we'll wait and see.

The only exception on the upgrade is any users that registered PocketWeather 1.X after September 1st, including, are entitled to upgrade to this new version for free :) If indeed you are entitled to upgrade for free to the new version you can expect an email including your registration information for the new version within the next ~24 hours since these emails are being sent right now too.

I hope that this information is helpful :)

I'd go with Amit!:)

It looks like all the notices that originate with SBSH themselves say September 1.

Hi All :)

Unfortunately we had a confusion with the cut-date for free upgrade with one of our documents which caused this confusion :/ Since the document content was written some time before the new version was ready for release and then we had more than a month delay during the beta testing stages we forgot to update the free-upgrade date information on one of our documents while it was updated with the other documents.

So technically the final official date for free upgrade was September 1st. We also finished emailing the free upgrade details to all users that registered after September 1st by now, so if you are still missing this email it is possible that our email was blocked etc. so please send a short email to our support team and they will be sure to send you the free upgrade details right away.

Nevertheless - since this confusion was caused due to one of our documents that came with the new version release, I've instructed our support team to email free upgrade details to any of the users who registered following August 1st and will be emailing us asking for those details, so if indeed you registered between August 1st to September 1st please drop us a short email to support@sbsh.net and we will be sure to honor what we wrong on the document :)

Sorry for all the mess with this

We will have to learn to check all of the different dates better in the future to prevent similar confusion :)

Seems like a lot of fuss over a mere $4.95.

PW2 is a very major upgrade including a host of new features and for $4.95 it is an absolute gift.

Go for it!!

agreed - if you can afford a PPC to begin with, $4.95 is nothing. $4.95 is like a meal at McDonalds...
