Oh baby! Now if I could only get to their website to download it!!! I've been waiting ages for the Pocket Weather upgrade! Also, your link to Pocket Breeze 5.4 says shsh instead of sbsh. :) Merry Christmas!

Actually, according to the SBSH web page, ALL registered users of PocketWeather 1.x may upgrade to PocketWeather 2.0 for $4.95.

Users who registered PocketWeather 1.x after September 1, 2007 may upgrade to PocketWeather 2.0 for free.

Yep, I was able to upgrade to 2.0 for $4.95. I really like the PocketWeather integration in PocketBreeze. What a nice little Christmas present. :)

It's got all of the WeatherPanel features, combined with regular updates, working weather source data that doesn't require a user to patch and pray, and it works well with other SBSH products.

Yup, great Christmas/Hannukah/Kwanza present from the SBSH folks.

Many thanks Haesslich and all for the great support! :) I'm really glad to hear that the new PocketWeather and PocketBreeze updates work well for our users and that you enjoy the new features introduced with both of the new updates! :)

One of my personal favorite features that was also introduced with this new PocketWeather 2.0 release is the Custom-Layouts support, allowing users and designers to create new weather display layouts with basically endless options! This really brings great power to our users and community to create great new designs for your weather information display with different level of information, so users that are interested only in the simple forecast can easily use a simple layout, while users that would like to have access to more weather related information can easily load a more advanced layout!

Here is a sample of one of the more-advanced new Custom Layouts that was created already by our users that gives a nice demonstration of the custom-layouts concept:

This specific layout file was created by our forums member Yarns and is available for download here:

Matze's skin for PocketWeather 2 - SBSH Mobile Software Forums

There are already a few additional really cool custom layouts available within the PocketWeather resources forum.

I hope you will all enjoy the new PocketWeather 2.0 release and we will definitely do our utmost to continue and introduce additional new updates for our different applications too in the following weeks already!

Happy holiday season to all! :)

Regarding the upgrade policy for the new version, all of our previous PocketWeather 1.X registered users are entitled to upgrade to the new version for $4.95. We've already finished sending the upgrade information to all of our registered users, so if you didn't receive this by email there is a good chance that we have an older email address or that our email was blocked :/ In that case, please contact our support team at: support@sbsh.net and we will be glad to help with this right away!

The only exception on the upgrade is any users that registered PocketWeather 1.X after September 1st, including, are entitled to upgrade to this new version for free :) If indeed you are entitled to upgrade for free to the new version you can expect an email including your registration information for the new version within the next ~24 hours since these emails are being sent right now too.

I hope that this information is helpful :)

I'm having trouble displaying any icons other than the built in ones. When I try to import or select other icons, none show up. Any ideas?

Also, hey Graham, did you go to Biola?

Thanks for the link but it didn't work for me (seems like others too). Hmmmm..... well, still have weatherpanel though it hasn't been updated in years.

Question Pw & Wp

Up until now, I've used Weather Panel. I purchased PW today and like it a lot...the one thing I miss are the overnight forecasts which I can't find in PW. I'm running both right now...use PW with Pocket Breeze v5.4 and WeatherPanel for 24 hour forecasts (looks like both apps use the same weather source given the high/low temps tie between each app).

I understand v2 was a big release and will continue to move forward, but did I miss something in PW v2?

Thank you.

Rob

I don't know if I can adequately explain how to get custom icons using the previously posted instructions but I'll try.

When you get to the Search and Install Icons screen it is vital that you don't go one level too deep when selecting the icons folder. You must only navigate to the folder that contains the list of icon folders and not into the folder whose icons you want installed. Does that make sense?

This is the opposite of what SBSH normally do regarding skins where you normally have to navigate into the actual folder that you want.

I hope this helps but if not then there are other threads in the SBSH forums dealing with this particular problem so it might be worth having a look.
