CES 2008: Fujitsu LifeBook P8010 Ultra-Portable Notebook

Fujitsu Computer Systems Corporation today introduced the LifeBook P8010 ultra-portable notebook featuring a sophisticated, glossy black cover that houses a 12.1-inch Crystal View LED widescreen display in a smaller form factor. The LifeBook P8010 notebook, available in February, will debut at the Digital Experience and be featured at 2008 International CES in Fujitsu Booth #13244, Las Vegas Convention Center Central Hall.

The LifeBook P8010 notebook's unique design and LED-based display enables Fujitsu to deliver the larger screen in a sub three-pound system that has almost the same footprint as its predecessor, the LifeBook P7230 notebook with a 10.6-inch display. On-the-move consumers and mobile professionals will appreciate the 6.5 hours of battery life(1) delivered by the LifeBook P8010 notebook, which is equipped with an Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo processor. With overall dimensions of 11.2 inches x 8.26 inches x 1.37 inches, the LifeBook P8010 notebook is designed for maximum portability.

"With its stylish glossy black cover and silver tone accents, the LifeBook P8010 notebook will make a definite statement about the user," said Paul Moore, senior director, mobile product marketing, Fujitsu Computer Systems. "However, the best part is what the users see when they open the lid, a proportionately huge display with crisp clear images."

The LifeBook P8010 notebook features an optional built-in camera, centered above the display for video messaging, and a fixed dual layer multi-format DVD-RW. There's no shortage of security features with an embedded Trusted Platform Module (TPM) microchip, an integrated biometric fingerprint sensor that doubles as a scroll button after login, and a security lock to keep physical assets safe. Data is further protected on the reliable and durable Fujitsu P8010 notebook with a spill-resistant keyboard and Fujitsu Shock Sensor hard drive protection system.

The LifeBook P8010 notebook offers superior connectivity with a suite of industry standard ports typically found on notebooks twice its size, including three USB 2.0 ports. A dedicated built-in SD memory slot makes it fast and easy to store or transfer music, pictures and data. The LifeBook P8010 notebook offers flexible communication options, delivering an integrated V.90 modem, a Gigabit Ethernet LAN or the Intel PRO/Wireless Network Connection wireless LAN with dual diversity antennas.

The LifeBook P8010 notebook, available in February, is priced starting at $1,699 for a fixed configuration through the Fujitsu direct sales force, website, channel partners and select retail outlets(3). Users can choose from a recommended configuration, or they can customize their system using the Fujitsu Configure To Order (CTO) program.
