Leading Global Publisher Adds Popular Franchises, Blockbuster Movies and Original Titles to its Portfolio
Today at the 2008 Game Developers Conference (GDC), Glu Mobile Inc., a leading global publisher of mobile games, unveiled its roadmap of upcoming titles launching in North America in the first half of 2008. The additions to its portfolio of games include titles based on global brands from partners such as Microsoft and Warner Bros. Digital Distribution, leading casual titles from PlayFirst Inc. and Big Fish Games, as well as Glu original titles.

“Our product lineup for 2008 is truly our best ever, and we’re excited to bring such a dynamic mix of games to market in the coming months,� said Jill Braff, senior vice president of global publishing, Glu. “From major movie brands through our relationship with Warner Bros. to, best selling strategy and online hits and our own original Glu titles, we have a great variety of titles coming out that will appeal to a broad audience of mobile gamers.�

The titles launching in North America in the first half of 2008 include:

• Shadowalker - Players take on the role of Shadowalker, a mysterious female bounty hunter challenged to defeat hordes of menacing ghouls in this horror-themed adventure game. Find the source of the curse before it’s too late!
• Space Monkey - Space has been consumed by Earth’s garbage and it’s up to one courageous monkey to clean up the entire cosmos. Gamers must help Space Monkey navigate the galaxy while avoiding hazards and taking down space enemies that get in his way.
• Age of Empires III Mobile - It's the dawn of a new age in immersive real-time strategy with the return of the top-selling Age of Empires franchise. As the Knights of St. John, players explore the New World as they build and conquer rival colonies in pursuit of the ultimate empire. Jump into skirmish mode or defend Malta from the Ottoman Empire in an extended campaign mode which is a prequel to the AoE III PC game.
• Mystery Case Files: Agent X - The best-selling Mystery Case Files series is coming to mobile with Mystery Case Files: Agent X. Created and developedby Big Fish Games Studios and published throughout North America by Glu, players solve mysteries by finding cleverly hidden objects within a variety of beautifully rendered scenes. In this new and exclusive mobile release, players can post high scores to leaderboards and download brand new episodic content.
• Solitaire Pop - In this adventurous twist on classic solitaire originally published by PlayFirst, players can explore archeological sites and discover lost rarities that will have them digging their way through 50 ancient ruins all over the globe. Players create solitaire hands, earn power-ups and dodge perils to unearth rare artifacts from the Oracle of Delphi to the excavation sites of Birka and beyond.
• Speed Racer - In this mobile game inspired by the upcoming movie, SPEED RACER players become the ultimate grand prix champion in the Mach 6. They must conquer the art of drifting, sliding, jumping and defensive driving in order to stay ahead of the pack while racing on extreme tracks with the dirtiest of competitors.
• Wedding Dash - In this spinoff from PlayFirst's hit Diner Dash® series, players help Quinn, a wedding planner, plan, create and host weddings around the globe. To win the game, planners must interact with guests, avert wedding day disasters and keep the bride and groom happy.
• Frantic Factory - Players must link conveyor belts, open switches and build catapults over walls to ensure their production line runs to perfection from start to finish. Players need to work fast and efficiently at their first factory job if they want to earn money and get promoted. They then work their way up through three distinct factories full of challenging levels and become an industry magnate.
• Get Cookin’ - This fun and colorful casual game challenges players to create delicious cuisine by perfecting a wide variety of cooking methods, ingredients, seasonings and recipes. Budding chefs need to prepare the most mouthwatering meals in order to rise to the top of their profession.
• CrossPix by glu - Sudoku fans looking for a new challenge will love CrossPix by glu, a new logic puzzle game that challenges players to reveal pictures by completing a grid using deductive reasoning. CrossPix players can choose from over 165 picture logic puzzles in a variety of themes including animals, vehicles, food and drink, and also have the choice of creating their own picture puzzles to test friends. CrossPix experts can take the ultimate test with the Super CrossPix puzzles, a massive logic challenge featuring nine mini-puzzles.
• Super Slam Ping Pong! - In the spirit of Glu’s runaway hit, Super K.O. Boxing, Super Slam Ping Pong is a hilarious, over-the-top game that features a cast of wacky opponents such as Master Wu-Pong and the Gnarly Gnome. Players must keep an eye out for each opponent’s tell and weakness as they fill their Super Slam meter to unleash powerful slams.
• The Dark Knight - Play as Batman in The Dark Knight, the thrilling action game based on Warner Bros. Pictures upcoming blockbuster film. Batman fights to eradicate street crime in Gotham City using his advanced combat skills and an array of unique gadgets. However, things take a darker turn when a new reign of chaos is unleashed on the terrified citizens of Gotham by a rising criminal mastermind known as The Joker.
