I was at a family party at the weekend, when my Mum said 'Did you see the advert in The Times today about that new gadget'. She couldn't remember the details but it did everything, got wound up and never needed batteries. This was a surprise to me for a couple of reasons. Firstly it was a novel enough idea to get my Mum interested in it, and secondly I had no idea what she was talking about.
Well after a phone call today, she told me that it was called the Eco Media player and comes from Britain's favourite inventor
Trevor Baylis
What you get is a photo viewing video playing MP3 player, that you can charge by winding the clockwork handle (or USB if you're a lazy so and so) with a 1.8" screen, and 2 gigabytes of internal memory and an SD card slot which (via a software upgrade) can support 8GB cards.
And if that wasn't enough it will act as a
Phone Charger, Torch, Loud speakers, FM Radio and an Audio recorder (with Line in) that Encodes to MP3.
Selectable recording quality 64k,128k, 192k bits / sec.
Its available now for between £90 and £150... and did I mention that Stephen Fry quite like it as well?
(thanks Mum)...
