This would be just cool to have. I have always imagined a USB slot on my axim. And this would allow me other possibilities to use my axim.

NICE!!!!

Thanks again for the contest.

I wanna win!

I would hook that use an external hard drive for streaming music to my bluetooth stereo car and then create my media mobile center!

Regards!

It's so cool I'd take it into work, show it off to my mates and show them what they can't do with their crackberry's!

I am looking at using it with flash drive to add some extra memory. Hopefully I can run some programs and not just use it for storage.

I'd use a mouse for navigating while docked. I'd also make use of the webcam funtionality when that's available.

Storage and trasfer, moving things via sd card is ok, but I have a 40 gig 2.5 inch hd in a usb case. using it as a movie and music storage, and for easier moving of files and programs, it would be awesome.
I'd love to see how far it can go with a web cam and try a usb gps,
Also just to make it accessable to my usb mp3 stick.
I figure is no way I can hook up my usb analog or digital tv tuner, but maybe some of my other usb gadgets. I hope they come out with some programs that can make some toys compatible with the axim

Wow. I had no idea this existed.
Right now my PDA carries the files that I play with, while the files I work with ride on a tiny PNY flash drive on my keychain.
Combining the ability of the PDA with the ease and functionality of the drive is just amazing.

Someone here mentioned keyboards as well. I'd be doing this as well since I've had a horrible time messing around with BT keyboards.

Axim and USB - what a combination

Use ? Anything that I can't already do with bluetooth.

Just an external HD or a printer connection would be fine but I wouldn't mind if I could use my digital TV USB adapter too

Storage and file transfers are what first come to my mind. I could hook up an external hard drive or thumb drive. Wow, the storage potential just became *HUGE*! The thumb drive would make file transfers really easy, no SD card removal for big files.

Big Smile

Does anyone remember the Acer n311? It's the feminine, Taiwainese-European reincarnation of an Axim without the graphics accelerator. While it also didn't have a CF slot, it had a proven (meaning took HDrives & Keyboards) USB port in its docking station.

Tell me n311, don't I look good using my portable harddrive WITHOUT the docking station? :approve:

Now baby don't get jealous - USB-CF adaptors have been around, but nothing as smokin hot as SE........... and you thought Americans had no style...

Ever wished you can flirt with you friends gadgets  , like put their thumbdrive in your USB port? Uh oh, you can't watch those videos off the thumbdrive! You don't have a USB port!

Oh no?
Check this out. Yeah that's right, put your thumbstick in - don't worry, I'm a Pocket PC, you won't catch HIV (Harddrive infecting virus) from me.

BT keyboard not cutting it for ya? Stick in a desktop keyboard - that's right, a big, grown-ups keyboard will do just fine. Enjoy those spacious keys along with that scalpel sharp screen.

Have a portable DVD drive? Go ahead, plug it in. No converting necessary.

Mouse? Maybe.

Camera or video cam? Sure, why not?

The magic lies in the name "USB" ------- "Universal" Serial Bus. Just about any of the countless devices that utilize USB are for your Pocket PC.
Versatility's what it's all about. Go ahead, be versatile.

This would be ideal for adding a keyboard and taking notes in meetings plus using a flash drive for backups and on and on. I see no limit on applications for this device.

Connecting my Axim X51v to an external USB drive would DEFINITELY save me a boat load of time having to transfer TV shows and movies to my CF or SD cards! On top of that, having my music collection available to me at the touch of my Axim is a bonus.

It is so cool! I will transfer pictures from my camera and edit them on Ax. I can copy files to usb flash to give them somebody. And I can do all other cool stuff when I am away from home and I don't need to carry laptop with me anymore!

Hi!

Wao - this is great!

I'd use it with a USB hub - to do all these things at the same time:
-using a memory stick
-using a usb keyboard (full size instead of 4 rows mickey mouse keyboard)
-mouse
-camera?
-Spacemouse? Wao ... great idea ...
-Scanner
-Printer
-Cardreader to get support for CF back and also MS2 :-)
-in my workplace with an industrial product ...
-I am sure some other things will come to my mind very soon :-)

I just wonder who will write all the drivers for my devices - any volunteers?

Serious: the USB-drive capability would be great to exchange files with friends memory sticks without a Desktop and also mouse support ...

best regards
Daniel
