so far I have only owned a single PDA, HP RX3715. It was a gift and I have been using it for a few years now. I think it's time for me to update to the new one so if I am ever so lucky, I would so happy with joy.

This is easy.
Nothing, nothing, nothing, have an iPod touch now, but I'm not really sure if that counts, then hopefully HTC Fuze. Comeon!

6th Birthday contest Fuze
Happy 6 candles, Chris and thanks for the contests.
Now to try and remember more than a week ago;->
* Got interested in PDA's in 2004 and bought a HP Jornada on EBay to see how much use I got from it. Got use from it. Lovely toy.
* Spotted a better toy (IPaq 3970) on a work Bulletin board so sold the Jornada and bought the IPaq. Lovely screen, fair bit of memory, and with an add-on sleeve great battery life. Super for travelling.
* Run forward a year or so and, happily retrenched I went for an Axim X51v as a retirement prezzie. Having found this site beforehand was one good reason for my choice. Beaut little unit and it's my backup PDA. Actually bought it new!
* A year ago I bought an XDA Flame at a very good price on Ebay. Wanted to play around with a converged device. And the Flames specs were good as well at the time. 2Gb ROM! Been quite happy with the Flame and the ability to load up a lot of books and music has been great for travelling. This plus mobile email saved my sanity when stuck in hospital for a week. Sadly the Flame only has GPRS. Starting to feel the lack of HSPDA now as mobile data gets cheaper.
Ah the lust for new toys.
Cheers

My history is really short.
I started out with a Palm 650 on Cingular and had that for a few years.
Then this summer I finally updated and got Samsung Blackjack II for AT&T.

It all started when I got a Palm III. Do any of you remember that one? It was great in its day. Then came my Handspring where I modified it so that the cradle actually charged the batteries. Sweet. I sold that one and bought a Sony, then a Palm T3. The color and resolultion was awesome. Then I bought my Dell Axim x51v. I made the jump to the WinMo side. Next? I am not sure... Stay tuned.

Smartphone history
I started my smartphone journey with the Dell Axim, the original smartphone! After working with that for quite a few years, I moved over to sprint and used the motorola q for a while. I was loving the Q, until the PPC6700 rolled into view. After buying the PPC 6700 the mogul was released so I went for that one, I loved the Mogul because it was fast, had a great keyboard and overall was my favorite smartphone or so I thought. Then came the touch pro, which I am enjoying today. It is an amazing device that does everything I could ever want in a device and works great. I never even updated the ROM with any of the customs out there because it works so well on its own. I love my touch pro but want to be with AT&T for better reception, hence why I am putting my hat in the ring for the fuze!

I have never had a PDA or smartphone because I don't have a job and can't afford to buy one. Though I have been looking at them for several years. I've recently looked at the Sony Ericson Xperia X1, until I found out the $800 price tag. I also have looked at the LG Incite and the HTC Fuze. I looked at the Pantech Duo and the Samsung Blackjack II, as well as the Samsung Omnia and the Epix. I like the kind of productivity that Windows Mobile delivers as well as the fun and games you can implement into the devices. Next year when I start driving and get me a job I will probably start saving up enough money and buy the $500 HTC Fuze. I am on AT&T's network, however I can't upgrade my contract 'til March 2009, and I can't afford the $300 - $500 price tags that on the AT&T Windows Mobile devices.

I started with a 1900 series ipaq that I received as a gift - that was where I learned to enjoy customization of personal electronics.
I moved on to an inherited palm tungsten and fell in love with the simplicity and practicality of the palm os.
Then I won a t-mobile dash in a give-away. I still own, enjoy, and am impressed by the phone. Although I still have qualms about the usability of window mobile, it is so customizable that I can't put it down. HTC hardware is awesome. I flashed the rom to 6.1 recently - a VERY worthwhile upgrade.

From Toshiba e750 to Tilt
My first PDA was a Toshiba E750. The purchase was an impulse but I was hooked to it ever since. I carried it all the time. I even used it in a plastic zipper bag to surf the net in the bath.
Then I bought a HP iPaq rx3115. It had an impressive battery life and I still miss it. I used that for about a year and upgraded to AXIM 50v. The screen was really a wow and I was in love with VGA. The wm5 upgrade sucked and I was offered a x51v as a replacement, which I am still using. At the beginning of this year, I started my smartphone journey with a AT&T Tilt. I have to say it is something I can't live without. It's like my second wife. I am so used to the weight in my pocket. On the days I forget to carry it, I feel like I am naked.

It's simple for me. I've never had a smartphone or PDA before. I've only had two three phones in total. The first was an old flip motorola, second was a small brick motorola, and now I'm using an Ericsson.. the S500i. I've always wanted a smartphone, but have never had the opportunity to get one because of their prices. I've also looked ok eBay and such for HTC phones, but they're still expensive. I've also looked into buying an iPhone, which I would've, but not after finding out that that Walmart thing was false.

It's quite simple to talk about my PDA history because I only had 1 PDA. That was an HP iPAQ RX4200. Very excited in the beginning, but it quickly became a random gadget. I used it mostly for browsing the Internet, playing games and watching movies and TV shows during my long trips :D
But as far as the smartphone category is concerned, I got to check out 2 smartphones, 1 for a very brief time, and the other one I still have and use it. My 1st smartphone was a HP iPAQ 514 which I didn't like at all (it was a gift cause I would have never bought one :D) and after experiencing it for a few moments I put it back in its box and there it stayed ever since.
The second smartphone which I still have and use and I'm in love with is my iPhone. It's not the 3G one, it's a first generation 8 GB iPhone. Now I can't imagine using something else. My plans are to upgrade to the 3rd gen iPhone when it's released :)
But this doesn't mean that I don't want this HTC Fuze. I've heard nothing but good words about it and I'd love to have one and to see how it is.
Thanks ;)

I have been using PDA's for awhile now. It all started when my wife kept complaining because I'd never show up on time to pick either her or one of my sons for an appointment on time, occasionally being too late to make the appointment. So I bought a PDA to see if they would help keep me on track and remind me of what I was too absent minded to keep track of. I started with a Sharp Zaurus (my only non-Windows PDA). It worked well and I quickly discovered the device could be used to take meeting notes and a multitude of other functions too. Now I'm hooked beyond recourse; I HAVE to have one all the time or I can't even function...well, not quite, but close.
Here's my list of PDA's I've been through: - Sharp Zaurus
- Sharp Mobilon 4100 (Windows CE 2.11 with a built-in Modem and 640 x 240 resolution)
- iPAQ 3150 (first pocket-sized PDA, still grayscale screen, first one to use with an external keyboard - a stowaway)
- Axim X5 (first color screen)
- Axim X30 high (first to use with a GPS - what a discovery!)
- Axim X51v (first VGA screen - ah, now there's no going back to QVGA)
- iPAQ 211 (present)
Of these, I still have the ifollowing devices in my PDA museum: - iPAQ 3150 - I kept it because I loved it so much (permanently plugged into power)
- Sharp Mobilon 4100 - it just begs to be kept with it's VHS-looking format. Funny, as I think about it, it sort of looks like a rough version of a UMPC, except that it runs the crippled edition of Windows
- Axim X30 - My son uses it as an electronic agenda (To Do and Schedule manager for school)
- iPAQ 211 - My current PDA (you know it just seems insulting to call it such a weak name as "PDA" don't you think?
Anyway, that's my history. What a journey...from Windows CE 2.0 to Windows Mobile (CE) 6.1!

All Palm so far
Way back, my brother worked for U.S. Robotics and sent me a Palm Pilot Professional and I've been hooked on Palm ever since. When that finally failed I upgraded to a Palm III and stuck with that until this year when the stylus registration started failing regularly. I bought a refurbed Palm TX but except for checking Google Reader on the built-in WiFi occasionally, I still use it like I used the Palm III, primarily for calendar, contacts, idea capture and list-making (and, now, solitaire). One reason I haven't switched over to the Treo or the Centro is the size of the screen and I still prefer Grafitti (even the slower Grafitti 2 - ugh!) to the micro-chiclet QWERTY keyboards.
