HTC Fuze Contest

Palm Pilot 5000 - First 'true' PDA after years of using handheld digital business organizers with simple PIM capabilities and a three-line dot readout.

Palm IIIc - Reverse effect of Pleasantville - learned PDAs need not be color blind.

Palm m130 - Sturdy little thing survived numerous drops. The sustained shocks never convinced it to accept my Graffiti, though.

iPaq 3670 - First WindowsMobile PDA made Palm look like a cheap rerun.

Dell Axim X30 - Longest-running PDA ever used. Still ticking...

Palm Treo 700p - One last look at Palm OS failed to impress.

Palm Treo 700w - Saved my bacon once, enabling me to finish a document on the go.

In 1994 I saw a Sharp Wizard, and I snatched it up quick. It was beautiful and could hold appointments, phone numbers and contacts. It was not very advanced compared to today's standards, but back then it was as powerful as my IBM XT. But that started me off on pdas. A few years later my buddy showed me his Palm Vx and I was enthralled. I bought the Palm IIIe b/c I couldn't afford the Vx until a couple years later. In the early 2000's I made a switch the the Toshiba e330. It was thin, had color and had the WinMo 2000 OS. When I started my current job in 2004 I wanted gps, so I stepped up the the Dell Axim x30 and added Tomtom. Sweet. But alas, reading all the posts on MobilitySite about the vga screen of the x50v made me upgrade yet again.

The x50v rocked, but when CompUSA was going out of biz, I picked up the HTC Advantage for $540, $360 off list price. It was a fine machine but the keyboard was worthless and overall it was heavy and not pocketable, so I picked up the HP Ipaq HX4705, which is still my main machine. But I've grown bored with it. Perhaps another upgrade awaits...

My PDA smart phone history is short. I owned a HTC touch for one day. It worked on AT&T but did not do 3G as advertised. As much as I hated to send it back I did. Now I have an even more urgent need to consolidate my phone and PPC. When the funds are there it will be the Fuze.

My Pda/phone history in a word: TILT.

Before that I had a series of Ipaq's that I loved and respected. Microsoft reader on the Ipaq was a breeze.

a Fuze in every pot

The story of my pda/phone can be summed up in a word: TILT

But there were many ipaq's before the tilt. I loved them dearly.

My first PDA was the Casio BOSS. I had it for quite a few years and then gave it to a friend as a backup for his when I moved on to the Everex Freestyle that was a promotion from CompUSA when buying Office 2000 Premium Edition.

After getting "hooked" on the Windows CE environment, when the iPAQ 3630 came out, I picked mine up on sale at Staples on New Years Day 2001. They were hard to find at the time as everyone wanted one. We were on our way to Best Buy and there was a small hand-written sign in Staples window stating they had the iPAQ in stock. I pounced on it and used it every day. I sold it to a friend when I decided to upgrade to the 3765 (I think that was the model number). I then moved on to the iPAQ 3850 and finally the 5555 which I still have to this day. I don't really use it much anymore though as I moved on to TabletPC's, but my wife uses it daily to play Spider Solitaire, Yahtzee, Shanghai, and several other games.

On the Smartphone front, my first Smartphone was the Motorola MPx220 (And I still have two of them (one was mine, one was my wife's, just not actively using it). I upgraded from that to Cingular's 3125 (aka the HTC Startrek) and it was my current phone until May of this year. I'm not using a BlackBerry 8800 :-( as it's company supplied, but I'd really like to get back to the Windows Mobile platform. My wife's current phone is the BlackJack II and she loves it.

HTC Fuze giveaway

Currently running an Audiovox SMT5600. My wife uses a Treo 750. She had a Treo 650 before that and I had a Nokia before my current one. I still have an Asus handheld and had a Toshiba handheld before that.

Well, I started with a Dell Axim X50.
Sadly I cracked the screen, so I upgraded to an Axim X51V.
I then moved on to an HP IPAQ HW6910.
My last (and current) PDA is an AT&T Tilt 8900.
