Ever wanted to be an inventor, product designer or maybe simply thought: “Why don’t they come up with this or that accessory for my PDA?”

Seidio, Inc. is now providing you the unique opportunity to come up with some fantastic ideas and designs that may revolutionize the PDA accessory world and reward you handsomely for it.

The reason for doing this is to celebrate the appointment of our Australian Distributor, Peter Girgis of AusNavigation. Additionally, since Seidio is the premium sponsor pocketpcreviews.net site, thus, it’s our pleasure to have pocetpcreviews.net to be involved in this fantastic GiveAway and Competition as well.

So, what are we looking for?
We would like you to come up with a generic new product that can be used with most PDAs. Seidio already has a bulging catalogue of over 450 items for PcoketPCs and Palm PDAs. However, there are plenty of new ideas out there that are waiting to be produced.

We are not looking for just another case for the ipAQ 6666 for instance, or a USB-powered coffee maker. That would certainly be unique & useful but it is highly unlikely that it would work.

The best items are relatively simple, unique, very useful and will work (with perhaps minor adaptations) with most PDAs.

Rules and Rewards for Participants
1. Go and check out the whole Seidio product catalogue at www.seidio.com or www.seidio-europe.com (It is important to know what we already have before suggesting a “new” idea!)
2. Come up with a new product that Seidio can develop and produce. (As mentioned before, we are looking for unique products that can be used with most mobile platforms.)
3. Submit your idea, plan, concept or design (or maybe even a working prototype!) to Seidio.au@pocketpcreviews.net
4. Every entry will be rewarded with a $5.00 off coupon toward your next purchase from Seidio. The $5.00 coupon will be emailed to each of the contestant.
5. All valid entries will be rewarded with a 50% discounted on your next purchase from Seidio.
6. The top 5 designers may award themselves with any one product out of the Seidio catalogue (or may elect a Seidio shopping voucher for USD$100)
7. The winning designer/designers (if there ‘s more than one good products that will be taken into production) will also get three samples of their product when it becomes available.
8. Entries will be judged by Seidio only and become the intellectual property of Seidio.
9. Everybody in this whole wide world can participate (unless you already happen to work for Seidio!!)
10. Entries must be received before Dec 15, 2003.

Ok I may sound stupid but I don't see the point.
Or better I see their point.

A working prototipe (maybe) and the intellectual property goes to them?
And I only get 100$ if I win...

You don't have to send them a prototype. You can just send them a description; that's what I did.

Either way, I agree with nicor on this one.....

If it is an idea that is so good they actually use it, they're going to make thousands (if not millions) of dollars off of it over the years. And you get $100 and 3 samples of the final product.

Doesn't sound very advantageous to me....

If it's that good of an idea, it would be much better to patent it and outsource the design to someone to produce it for you.

With that said......It still seems like a cool contest, but just not one that I'm interested in. :)

I dunno,
I think this contest is great, especially
for those people that have had 'wanted'
a product for a PDA, but had no clue as
to how to go about actually producing the product...
let alone even being able to aford the patent...
and from what I hear patents are pretty darn
expensive....

I would love to have some of my ideas be
created, and I know some of them will never
come to pass unless its through a contest like
this..
