This coming week, a small Cambridge, Massachusetts-based company called Oxy Systems (
Oxy Systems - Welcome to the mobile lifestyle) is expected to launch a new mobile music and social networking service called phling! that allows users to access, listen to and share music files with up to six friends (permission-based). Since no music is stored on the cell phone, there is no need to synch up (sideline) to your PC, as you need to do with an iPod and other mobile music services, like Cingular's. I'd watch this company, as it's new service will offer carriers the ability to compete with...and offer a next step...to what is expected from the Apple iPhone.
