FM transmitters now legal in the UK

Much to the surprise of many users, devices such as the iTrip actually were illegal in the UK until the start of this month under the 1949 Wireless telegraphy act. This is despite the fact that they were actually on sale and over 100,000 of them are in use. Although it was legal to sell them, PC World, found itself in trouble for encouraging people to use them them a couple of months ago.

All that has changed now as the new act legalises certain low powered transmitters.. so it's back to business as usual.
