Cingular Palm Treo 750 - Day 5
Sorry for missing a couple days here. Back at it, I have logged many, many minutes of talking on this. One note of interest. I have recently installed and paired a Garmin Mobile 10 Bluetooth GPS up with the Palm Treo 750. I will have a video of the unboxing and easy set up of this new receiver this weekend. The processing of the GPS Application was very smooth too. I also installed a new application that will be launched soon and it runs great. It is my new 1st install application!!! More on that when I can talk about it!
Getting back into using a Pocket PC Phone
As many of you know, I love the BlackJack Smartphone and still do. Now that I have won a Palm Treo 750 of my own, it will be a hard choice to make. The Treo 750 is doing a real good job becoming my new daily driver. Since I got so used to the ease of checking email, dialing, and almost anything using one hand with the BlackJack, I rarely have the urge to "touch" the screen. Now that I am using a touch screen device, I still do have the urge to use it. That says a lot for the Treo 750. I am able to do most of the same tasks one handed using the hard buttons and dpad. I think solitaire is the only thing that I have really used the stylus for.
One annoying issue
Well there are a couple small issues, but the one I want to point out now is the waking up of the Treo. When the screen shuts off from not being used, I have a tendancy to hit the call button to wake it up. Not sure why, but I do. The annoyance is that sometimes I hit is twice and end up calling someone by mistake. I am training my mind to hit the hang up button to wake it, but that is taking time.' How do you wake your Treo up? The sound issue I mentioned in an earlier entry has not been a known issue according to Palm. I hope it's just an isolated issue. I should get my own Treo 750 before the review is done, so I can test it on that one too.
Hint : "How" is a keyword in the Win an i-mate JAQ3 Pocket PC Phone Contest.

Chris, I have had the same sound issue with my Treo 750v. It doesn't happen all the time, but far too often in my opinion.
Do you also have the problem whereby after a few uses of the silent switch no sound comes through at all? I have this problem, and a soft reset is the only way to bring sound back.

Let me know how you go. I would call Palm Australia, but the 750v still isn't available from Vodafone Australia. Besides, these days forums are a better source of info that tech support :P
Hopefully they will give you some kind of eta on a fix.

Mine is the 700p, but I use the ON/OFF button, aka the RED HANGUP button to re-activate my Palm and view screen. No accidental calls, and it does activate the phone. Just press once, and there you go.
Just a thought, maybe that will work for you on the 750 models.

I know what you mean with the wakeup. My phone is key locked whenever the screen goes to sleep, so no worries with which button I press twice or 5 times.
If I know keys are not locked, I just hit directional keys or END call which doesn't do anything.

yep. It works with the 750 too, but for some reason, my mind keeps going for the GREEN one. I am getting better!
